I have noticed a few Lychee trees in Bangalore where it can get quite warm. The trees that I noticed were in rather small gardens with a combination of both direct sunlight and protection from the surrounding houses. In fact I even saw one laden with fruits, so warm and dry or warm and wet weather did not affect the tree in an obvious manner.
