Oh no... so sorry to hear about the house sale falling through.

I am going to be totally busy with US tax season until April 15, so please plan your going-to-India date accordingly!

I"m also very sorry that we will not be eating steak on December 29, as I was looking forward to this!

Best wishes for a sale that works out well for you ... and let's try this again later.

Thanks all the wonderful IndiaMike friends.

As you can imagine, we had gone into the packing mode, and now, we have to revert to the home decorating mode for house sale. Given the Christmas season it may not be be attractive in terms of potential buyers (although we did sell our home in San Jose during this time, but, it was a totally different market in 2000).

The "good" news is that from a real estate market, our home will now be a "new" listing as opposed to one that has been on the market since July 2007. that may be a blessing in disguise

Cheers

Nattusbs

PS: I always love a good steak - I try to grill one every other week - smack - I can taste it. As my wife said when she first came to Canada after we got married and had beef; North American cows don't look like Indian Holy cows, so for us, even though we are Hindu brahmins, it is OK! Sorry to offend anyone.

Conversation with an Indian crewmember in approx 1985 in Norfolk, said crewmember, a Brahmin and a strict vegetarian on board, found by me eating beef at a fast food place ashore.

Me: Do you know that is beef?

Him: Yes, but it isn't an Indian cow

I eat (or used to, now almost vegetarian) Indian cows too.

I was an equal opportunity cow eater

Good luck Nattus, I'm sure it'll work out in the end.

I think it's time to start planning another one. One of our mainstays, wonderwomandusa, will probably want to wait till after tax season (she's a tax professional and is currently BUSY) ... but if we're true to form, it will probably take us that long to organize something anyway.

Bay Area restaurants, L&L. We've been to Udipi in Berkeley, Saravanna Bhavan in Sunnyvale, Al Hamra in San Francisco ...

If you'd like to plan a meetup, just post it here and we'll respond!

I don't know if I'm up for planning one....although I'd love to attend. A couple folks mentioned early May and I was just hoping that would work out because I leave for India (first trip) mid-June. Thought it would be a great way to get some first hand insight right before I leave.

So, if the timing is right, I'll be there

I leave June 3rd from the bay area for a while. Will be on the road for a while...would love to meet some of you as well.

How does this work...do we just throw dates out there and then plan around that.

What works in terms of location..is SF proper better or do many live down in the South Bay.

So I will throw the dates to start..May 3rd/May 4th.

L&L: are you in the city?
