WW, as you mentioned elsewhere, Lark Creek in the San Francisco Center seems like a decent option as it has at least one fish main entree as well as a number of non-meat soups, salads and side dishes, and it's right next to BART.

Where ever y'all go please do post the pictures.

WW, I remember asking for a veg.venue..
I've made some amendments to the that Veg-On-Saturday rule now.

Hi Madhu!

Many folks around here don't understand Hyderabadi, so chat away!

WonderWoman and I just chatted on the phone and we think Lark Creek in the San Francisco Center (next to the Powell Street BART station) seems like the best option. We're think of an early dinner hour - 6:30? - because it will be easier to get a table on a Saturday night. Here's the website. You can check the menu.

There we go again. Hope this is going to lead to a completely OT exercise in Indglish (not).

Um, the main dishes are like $25-40+

It may still be possible but I'll have to double check with my family and possibly take a second loan on my non-existent house lol

Yes, as I said, this isn't one of our routine meet-ups in one of our usual neighborhood Indian "greasy spoons". It's a special, celebratory send-off for Nattubs. That was the genesis of this particular outing. If you can make it fine. If you can't, that's fine, too. There will certainly be other meet-ups in the future, after the holidays have calmed down, where we'll be back to our usual form. Maybe you could organize one?

Alright. No problem on that. I'll be in India Jan-early Feb so after that.

We might still make the over priced cow-house on the 29th, so don't yet count us out. We may still show up disrupt the calm environment, eat a lot and then have to wash dishes for a week.

Hi all

I am overwhelmed with the support and kindness of IndiaMike folks in arranging the meetup on Dec 29th.

Unfortunately, all of my plans have suddenly changed. The sale of our house fell through since the buyer had a few major credit dings in his credit report and was not able to secure financing. This has caused us tremendous anguish, however, rather than dwell on how it happened, my philosophy is to say "it is what it is" - what can we do now?

So, we have put the house back on the market and I am postponing my return to India. I have until the end of April 2008 to join IIT-KGP and hope that the house will sell in the next 4 months. I am going to cancel my air ticket and will not be able to partake in the planned festivities. Maybe there is a reason for all of this. I shall keep you all posted as things develop.

Cheers

Nattusbs

C'mon! Do go ahead and have a meet up will you!

I've been putting off a meetup with friends in HYD so many months now that they've started calling me names (not very nice Hyderabadi ones, to say the least). And I dont want to share...

Do it anyways I say!

Nattusbs, a bad break.

Wishing you all the best, and hoping that the mess that is the subprime scandal doesn't impact your sale too much.

With Nattubs' change of plans, we could now do a more typical meet-up before you go, and then another one when you come back, when you can give us a full report.

Nattubs, we'll be standing by for your arrival in April (or so ...) The U.S. credit crunch is playing havoc with a lot of house sales lately.
