Mods work long hours.

Do stuff in their sleep, sometimes

Sorry I can't make it to the meetup...

Umm yes, "some mods" have a habit of cleaning up by moving stuff around to what appear to be the more appropriate forums... (e.g., how to pack a toothbrush isn't typically an automobiles question. Well there's arguably always room for debate.)

This thread moved to back to its original location: Yak Yak Yak Forum!

Anything about toothbrushes should obviously be merged with the Driving Licence thread...

OK.... Since no one's suggesting a date yet, how about Saturday, Feb 3rd 2007?

We can meet at the same place where the last meetup met. Good food, poor service:

yikes, i should have said this sooner: that's the one weekend between now and my 2/13 departure that i'll be out of town. is everyone on the thread thus far available the weekend of 1/27 or that of 2/10?

any venue's fine with me, but a thought: little india in queens? two great restaurants on 74th, jackson diner (indian, the name's misleading) or, the nicer, but equally inexpensive delhi palace, a few doors down. (need to check the name of the latter). manhattan's fine, too, of course, but jackson heights is thematic!

looks like 2/10, then.

i suggest we meet at delhi palace. but it's one of only two restaurants i've personally been to in little india. for those of you familiar with zagat's, the food gets a rating of "21". the better-known jackson diner, also on 74th street, is given a "22", but neither the service nor the atmosphere seemed as good to me and it has a "cafeteria" feel to it. if anyone has other ideas, i'm open.

Delhi Palace
37-33 74th St.
(bet. 37th Ave. & 37th Rd.)
Queens, NY 11372
718-507-0666

by subway:
#7 to 74th st/b'way (the queens 74th/b'way, of course, not manhattan)
E, F, G, R, or V to jackson heights/roosevelt avenue

would someone like to suggest a time? i prefer dinner, but given that we'll be meeting one another for only the first time, maybe on the earlier side before it gets too noisy. thoughts on that?

I'm not too familiar the the restaurants in Jackson Heights either. As for time, any time is good for. I prefer dinner.
