i used paint, as had been suggested, and it worked. just had to reduce the images proportianlly to, say 35% in some cases. i'm sure there are other, easier or better or more skillful ways of doing this, but this was a good quick tutorial. thanks again, b, for simplifying things. (i've never had to do this before. i generally keep my pix on my laptop for my own enjoyment.)
really was nice to meet everyone. looking forward to the kolkata meet-up - two weeks from today! ![]()

when one considers nick's comments about the relative merits of my "thing" and the wild moonlight dancing, i reckon he won't be banning you any time soon. now as to the other mods, i can't say... comp accepted, graciously, CBH. thanks for "joining" our little gathering. |

Hi all!
Food was decent but the company was fantastic! It was really nice meeting you all. Janice best of luck on your journey and safe travels (hope you get that camera/video figured out)! Merchant, awesome pics and best of luck on your book, sounds really interesting. Beklemmung thanks for the link for the mountaineering Inst and hopefully our paths will cross in India at some point during our trip. Finally, Nadreg, very sly how you took care of the bill, THANK YOU! Can't wait for the next IM meetup...wherever that maybe! |

thanks, nadreg
just a tardy note of thanks again, nadreg, for your kind gesture picking up the lunch tab for the table. really enjoyed this, and look forward to another...in warmer weather!
excellent shots! (and i'd say my hair in that one pic quite accurately reflects my experience of "the power of the pann!") ![]() |

My notes from the meetup:
1. The food was pretty good. I liked the goat curry, which I haven't had in a long time. The coffee was good. The company was excellent. 2. The t-shirt that Janice made for me was awesome... Thanks Janice! I will wear it to all the other meetups. 3. Mach, though he didn't know it, was present at the table. Infact, one of the other women at the restaurant wanted to know where Janice got the pic of the cow from, and wouldn't go away until she found out. I think we might have a new member on IndiaMike.com very soon. Mach now has two admirers of his avatar. 4. The paan was met with mixed reviews. Janice was not into hers, although beklemmung liked his. The general consensus was that Janice, in skipping the sweet paan, had short changed her paan experience. 5. It was c-c-c-c-c-cold. |
