What!! oh, that's just horrible. Just when you think we might be making progress as a species.........

Sorry to hear that you are unwell, and having to put up with behaviour like that. At least you health is likely to improve quickly! And don't worry about the Delhi meetup - they're becoming so regular you're bound to hit one soon or later (I'm on for the next one when Alohaguy is in town).

get well soon.

You sure the Sikh gentleman wasn't sniffing the stewardess?

Maybe it was me in disguise.

Mrs. M's immediate reaction was file a discrimination complaint. I personally wouldn't bother.

And that crew was sure lucky not to have me and the Capt. on board

More importantly really (well, no -- differently important), aren't those folks supposed to be trained in first aid at least, recognize symptoms, also relevant to the countries they serve maybe, and at least supply you with some godd*mn water at least, even if it's normally sold at 5 bob a bottle these days? I mean bloody hell, YG had a similar report recently. I understand we fly cheaply these days by merit of bringing our own sandwiches,* but to neglect your passengers like that is just absurd.

* Was helping someone else check their flight somewhere else today. You get E 11 for the flight and then E 50 for the taxes and stuff, what is that all about? I'm not complaining about the extras mind, I think that's good, but how can the basic costs for a seat be so low? Because they don't get charged the appropriate fuel levy I reckon.

Tried to post earlier Karuna but my connections all failed.. I think that remark by air hostess is appalling. And not what you want to hear when you are sick either. Do hope you are on the mend now - just lucky the plane wasn't full and you weren't squashed in upright all the way. Lying down would have helped a bit.
OT - bb you are speaking like an Indian already! just wait till you've been here a few years - I'm referring to you being 'on for the meeting' - I'm on for it - is very Indian!! Must say, I say the same too.

Not sure how to react to the remark...I can see IMers are against it, however I might have taken it with a pinch of salt..

I hope some other North Indians on the board can share there thoughts..

Well, you know Shashank IMHO, even if somebody smells(no matter where they are from e.g. anyone smells after a sweaty game of football!!) it is generally considered rude to mention it unless you are very close family member or friend and it can be said in a joking kind of manner. For an air hostess to say such a thing which to my mind, is racially discriminating, is appalling. You can tell your nearest and dearest they stink, but in public you wouldn't refer to a lot of people from one particular country that they all stink whilst mentioning this to a passenger from another country.

Ditto what Aishah said! Except for telling the nearest and dearest that they stink - that's an immediate sin binning offence (all power to you if you can do that and get away with it - it makes you a far braver soul than me)

The thing is that it was said as if it were a known fact, something I would instantly and naturally agree with and recognise as true, which pissed me off because I don't want to be associated with such views. Unfortunately I was in no state to pick a fight, and actually wanted to be able to sit somewhere with space to stretch out cramping legs and move around. So I wasn't going to argue. Sorry.

It did surprise me that the crew didn't seem aware of the concept of "rehydration salts" at all- although perfectly willing to meet my request they were utterly baffled as to why I might request it.

Anyway, I'm derailing this thread and I'm planning to start one of my own about my experiences this time round so get back to planning that next meet up, you lot!
