Delhi IM meetup report - 18DEC05

Places:
Lodhi Garden + India Habitat Centre.

Attendees: (npo)
-Jyotirmoy
-Sggal
-Radz+a lot of photography equipment.
-Vinayverma+daughter
-Gwen
-Indianworker
-Stuart
-Ashish0608+family
-2 who wish anonymity
-Indojingai

What transpired:
circa 10:40am - A small IM congregation had formed at the gate (Lodhi Grdn.), Vinayverma greets me with a 'ohiyo gozaimasu' and I could feel some Japanese thrill in me. A large camera with a lady behind said hi to me, later Sggal told me that she was Radz. The IM crew then trampled into Lodhi Garden.
Jyotirmoy found a spot close to one of the tombs, inside which I could only see a few blocks of concrete, those were perhaps relegious concrete. Sheets were spread on grass which was not under a tree because Delhi birds like to give unwanted gifts.
Vinay runs an errand and returns with a cricket bat, a tennis racquet, a daughter, and tennis balls just as Jyotirmoy's jar of juices was emptied by drunk IMers.
IM Olympics started very unceremoniously, comprising of a mens cricket match and a womens catch-ball event. The cricket ball managed to land a few times on IMers of the sedentary kind but no one was seriuosly injured. (or so we hope)
The match couldnt be finished because of police intervention, the other sport was also unfinished as Vinay's daughter and Indianworker were both tired out!

There were many random conversations about happenings of the forum but not necessarily of India. Two hours passed and the sweaty, baked-in-the-sun IM crew heads for lunches at the India habitat centre.

12:45 pm - An IM meetup in an American resto was a very 'interesting' idea. Not to mention the resto itself...
So perhaps we may want to consider Ashish0608's suggestion of an Indian resto in the same building in the future.
There was some great impromptu singing by IMers as we were bored of the music played in the resto's jukebox.
After a couple hours of eats, drinks, fun n games we all parted our seperate ways.

Thanks everyone who attended, Vinay for managing this thru and i'm sorry if I ask too many crazy questions.

i am so terribly sorry guys~~~ i wanted to come but in the morning i was really feeling unwell and gave Vinay a call to tell him i cannot come down, hope u guys all enjoy urself~~~ missed out on a great meetup~~ damn~~~

ditto here folks, i had to rush on hour's notice to Nainital, missed on great company, hope everyone enjoyed to hilt while i was clipping along highway in miserable cold.
