Never worry, we improvised, which is half the fun! And those of you wishing me belateds, never fear, this was just the party, the actual birthday is tomorrow, but I shall stock pile these like a squirrel would with delicious birthday nuts. Or something... It's early and there's a wedding band outside my door.

Rather than organizing a meetup at a club/restaurant/bar, why not do some activity, like Camping? for a an entire day?

215 km means 4-5 hours of travelling, and enough cars. If this can be managed, I think its SUPERB. The long driving experience with new people, plus a long day camp and some activities, would be a great social activity. The big Q is: Who all are up for it?

We can probably depart on a Saturday evening or early morning, and return Sunday night.

If not, probably some location which is approx 50-60 kms away. Any suggestions?

And cityMONK, about karnvashram, what kind of place is it?

It is part of Jim corbet National park, Gmvn has Forest guest house and kitchen here.I think it is 17 km from Kotdawara.Comforatable night stay is also possible. Plus chaircar train also leaves for kotdawar in early morning.
Friend who stayed there on 31st december had chance of sighting Tiger or Baagh's burning eyes at midnight.Road after merrut is exceptionaly good.

We can also Hire a picnic van kind of Tempo Traveler if group is small.I think going rate for tempo is 14.00 per KM.
Going in own cars is always a option available.
I suggest Family participation also, so that kids can also enjoy the outing. Gathering around campfire is very much fesible there.

More suggestions needed.

Yes. Great idea. How many people can the Tempo Traveller fit in? Camp fire already sounds great.

And, cityMONK, the location you suggested, how much will it cost to stay a night?

Other suggestions for locations are welcome.
