New Delhi Meetups

Thanks Nikhil and everyone for helping me keep this all straight!

If I was alone I'd be up for Sat 18th evening but if it's during the day on Sunday, I can drop my kids off at a shopping area (they're 17 and 15 and speak Hindi so they can get by without me for a bit) so works out better for me.

But even if it's the 19th I'm not 100% pucca because plans are subject to change, so don't mind me. If 18th is better for more people, I'll try and make it somehow. I'll be staying in Golf Links. Not too familiar w/ Metro but hopefully I can use it part of the way...

Well it does appear that Saturday is better for most. There is a car coming from Jungpura (Rugs, Angel Carrot and group) I am sure something could be worked out.

If its a bother you can get the kids along...seriously shouldn't be a bother here (although at that age I doubt they would want to be here)

Will tie things up closer to the date in any case (we are still three weeks away)

Venue : Nikhil's Place - Madhuvan, Preet Vihar, Address to be shared closer to the designated date.
Date : 18th July, 2009, Saturday.
Time : 6:30 PM

Alternate venue : just in case Nikhil has some last minute travel plans or other issues, Volga in CP

Its a Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) event, attendees are expected to carry their drinks (a bit higher quantity than what they expect to drink

), Mixers (Soda, Soft Drinks, Juices etc) and basic snacks (Chips/Crisps, nuts, Namkeen etc).

For those who are new to the city, and have no idea on where to get the stuff, please post on the forum and hopefully some other IM member can help you out by either guiding you or picking the stuff for you.

Another thought:

For the beer drinkers, if you tell me what brand and quantity, I can buy and chill it in advance and you replace it with your cold stock or we can just settle a tab... no sweat on that.

To clarify why BYOB, while I have no hesitation is sponsoring the booze, if the home meet up works .. then some people might be unwilling to incur the added expense.

But actually, a host cannot arrange for booze, it will complicate the things. Lot of problems I can think of.

coz I would be arriving from Kumaon pretty late the same day.

But, for everyone's sake, Saturday, the 18th definitely is a much better idea compared to Sunday, the 19th.

Guess, my resolve will get stronger now to attend the next meetup!

While I realize that we shifted the date to the 19th to facilitate your presence. Its getting quite tough for quite a few. Just out of curiosity what time do you get back from Kumaon?Perhaps you could come straight here?

Appreciate the efforts being made to accomodate everyone (starting with me)

A late night Sunday extravaganza will be felt on Monday morning so Saturday seems to be the best choice.

I may reach Noida late on Saturday evening; I do intend to join in, if I get some time to freshen up and change into cleaner clothes since it will be a fairly long drive
