40c + who cares ! Anyone wanna meet up if your as crazy as us ?
I have posted this thread in the Indian Travel Partners forum but have been told I should post it here too.
It looks like a few of us are meeting on the 11th June for something to eat, we (my husband and I) are then travelling on the over night train to Lucknow. If anyone wants to meet up and join us for a few giggles, let us know and we will arrange a meeting place. I have been receomened the Gem Bar, any other ideas ? Need to stay near to the station if possible.  |

The evening took a orange shade from 4:30 pm itself. I was later told it rained a bit in CP area as well. However that dust and gloom was perfect for a evening of Sufi music.
I picked up Jyoti Da and another friend from Wimpy's in CP at 7 PM, and we were supposed to meet Shilpa at Humayun's Tomb, however she reached the Dragah before us. Led by Jyoti da, we entered the Narrow lanes and saw the world transform infront of our eyes. The Delhi changed in those 200 meters. You could smell fresh roses in the air, the ittar, serenity was in air. And moving through those streets was wonderful. We finally settled into the Dargah, infront of Baba Nizamuddin and it was time to go to the different zone altogether. The devotess from all across India were present there and without any modern technology the singers were mesmerizing the whole crowd. There was dervish, who had a huge cloth hand-fan with Baba's symbol on it. And that air from the fan, felt like cleansing my soul. |

after coming out of the Dargah, jyoti da was desperate to get started with the special feni that our friend had got from Goa. However we convinced him to hold his horses, and went to Yashwant Place (Chanakya's) and had our feni with some lovely momos and fried rice. After that Jyoti da had to leave early, we handed him over to an Auto Wallah, and went to Drop Shilpa in Munirka. However at midnight our parched throats decided that we needed some chilled beer. And what is the best place to get that middle of night. GURGAON...
We zipped on the expressway, and called Vinay, who as usual was game for a midnight meetup, we picked up few beers and landed over at his doorstep, There sitting in his Verandah, we chatted for hours and hours on every topic under the sun...or maybe stars this time.. We left from his place around 3 AM, and after dropping Shilpa and our friend I reached my place at 4 AM. |
