I've just reached this beautiful city and was wondering if there are others that think an IM Meetup in Amsterdam would be a good idea?

Anytime in the weekends would be great.

(Desprerately trying to hide my self-interest... <chuckle> <chuckle> ).

Great plan, I live in Amsterdam-West near Sloterdijk Station but means also 20 min. away from downtown (Dam Sq.., Leidseplein) will be great a IM Meeting. Best time will be on sunday for me around 14.00 (2pm) (Dutch time

)

Just let me know, love to meet more people frm IM, are there more people in Amsterdam.......

There is a piano shop on the corner just go there and the you see a trendy bar / lunch place called Esprit wait there on the front door

Cafe Soundgarden
corner Marnixstraat/Rozengracht
(almost; next to the fire brigade's)

Shame you can't have an A'dam meetup on the coming Tuesday at about 10am - inside the airport......LOL

Mac: that time I was too new to the city and was living out of hotels. But now i feel a lot more confident moving on my own... so the 6th is lekker!!

I'll send out my mobile phone in PM so we can communicate directly before the meetups.

You guys are killing me!!! I spent 6 years in Amsterdam, and miss it like crazy. I may move back in a couple of years. I lived in the Jordaan, and every place you've mentioned was right in my old stomping ground. You're making me ttally homeseick. Heck, I even went to Sloterdijk a couple of times to go to the tax office. Well if I ever get back, there will be regular meet ups for sure!

Let's say Indo and I have a date unless he calls it off and all others are free to join in. I'll send around some PM's to A'dammers that I'm aware of.
I intend to make it in time and tell the staff we have a meeting. There is one big however: I'll be working the night before, so who knows what f*cks up.
No need to panic, here's what to do: simply enquire with the friendly staff where the IndiaMike crew is hanging out. If they haven't got a clue what you're on about, it means you're the first one. So simply tell them you're having an IndiaMike meetup and kindly request they send any other visitors to your table. If the weather is well there's an excellent terrace outside which may not be so obvious to first visitors so that's where we may be. Inside it would be hard to miss us (think loud India talk).

Looking forward to meet you; minor excursions optional.
