Yo folks,

I'll be in Mumbai again this coming week, intend to get there Sunday night (7th) at the latest. Will fly out Tuesday late at night.

So say a meeting if anyone wants to would be great, and Mo. 8th or Tue. 9th not too late should suit me. With a view to last year's non-meeting (the second that never happened, not the first and very successful one), I wouldn't mind something in Colaba, for my own convenience. Gokul's bar there I like; or I was thinking the Kailash Parbat restaurant, I've never been there, but supposed to be something of a Mumbai institution. It's near Colaba Market.

Well, let me know. I'll try and contact some of you in private over the coming days; on a lousy connection here once again, and as usual.

Cheers guys.

Hi Mach: Welcome back to Mumbai!

If I am back in Mumbai by 8th (as planned) would love to come (all that long way from Thane to Colaba) for a drink and chat!

Aloha guys,

Sorry for keeping this brief. Yes, Monday 8th sounds just perfect; and Kailash Parbat does too. I'm fine with 18:00, but it might not be so cool for the working class among us? Maybe you can fight out the time here, then I'll check again asap.

I'll try and get back online more at length tomorrow, and round up some other usual suspects. Can one of you in the meantime give a shout-out to say Ronak (is that the name?), SKK, Shimla, Avidtrekker, Aadil?

Cheers, tally ho,

M.

if you gotta chug-a-lug at gokuls...

it cant get better than sitting on the footpath on plastic chairs and having their kebabs / liver masala / bheja fry / mutton dishes!

Indeed, indeedy; I'd forgotten to mention it when mentioning Gokul's, but Bade Miya sure is one fine eatery. I'm not a meat-eater myself (they do some veg.), but Steven Ber thought their brain fry was the best food he'd ever had in India (!)

That's a pity NYC, I'll now be arriving Monday noon'ish only. You won't be there on Monday? That would be the second time we miss one another. Ah, fate...

LOL. Ahem, ney, sorry, my flight won't see me there.

'Tis a pity indeed. Next time! I reckon we owe each other a drinkie by now.

ps Edit, I've now PM'd some of the usual suspects mentioned above, so we'll see what transpires. All welcome of course; no need to ask, but it's nice to confirm on this thread (and then make the effort to actually show up), with a view to possibly having to inform the venue and etc.

Fully agree with you , but I have some other commitment also on that day. As you have delayed your programme by 1 day, we can also postpone it on 9th .....

KS .... what do you say

Hi,

I'm a new member to the forum but have used these pages to plan my first trip to India. I'm arriving in Mumbai tomorrow and wondered if you seasoned veterans would consider allowing a new member to join your meetup?

Kind regards,

-Blair

Hm, yes, well, Tuesday evening would work for me, however my flight is late that night, so I'd then have to get moving around ten'ish or so I guess. Which would be doable I guess. (Bling, a thought: Drop me by the airport anyone? )

So Monday would actually be preferred to me. But as KS said, you guys work it out.

I don't know how flexible that Kailash joint is, but esp. if this doesn't look to become a massive group, we could just say people can drop by on Monday from 6 till 8 or 9 or so of course, to allow for later-comers.

Well. I'll probably be back online only tomorrow and once in Mumbai. I'll see what's up then. Cheers guys.
