How far is that from Ramsgate? If it's about an hours drive I might give it a try. I will be coming back to the UK this weekend.

Hi Munivar,
The map link below gives you some idea of location of Ramsgate and distance from central London. I think it will be around 2 hour drive. It would be great if you could make it. I'll post some more info here in the next day or two. Of course, as Nycank said, everyone is welcome to join us for a beer or two on the 9th May near Marble Arch. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...8500&ay=164500 ![]() |

Hi Nycank,
Shall we meet in the 'Hog in the Pound'? This is right next to Bond street station and set a few yards back from Oxford street. Let me know if this is not convenient and I'll find one nearer Marble Arch. I've been to this one a few times and its ok. I guess if you're coming on the central line then best to get off at Bond st. I'll be coming on central line. It'll save us walking too far from a tube station. ----- Btw, All are welcome! 9th May, 8.00 pm |

--- a once girlfriend of mine, a Japanese lady, used to call that pigs' pub. Thanks for the moment of nostalgia there)

So guys, how about this West Country Meet Up? When? Where? Lets set a date.. Summer's coming.. Well, it's going to be a sunny weekend at least.. ![]() Take a train... much much better than driving, and a lot quicker.

Hey Londoner, sorry you can't make the 9th. Perfectly understand. Have a good one in Amsterjam.
For our west country meetup, any weekend from last weekend of June to end of July is fine by me. |

Here is the website for the pub. The bar downstairs seems like a good meeting point right opposite the stairs. If its too busy to even stand there then we'll meet near the entrance to the pub.
I'll be the Indian guy with the glasses and wearing a black jacket. http://www.capitalpubcompany.com/hog/index.htm |

First week in UK from the US, I was supposed to pick up this colleague from LHR. We don't know each other. So I mailed him that I will meet him at arrivals and I will be this ~6 foot Indian guy with a french beard. Usually at Seattle airport, I am quite distinctive. So I go to the airport and that place was over run with Indian looking people. We had to call and give hand wave signals to locate each other. |

We had an excellent evening, Nycank and me. The beer was good too and the weather was just right.

That's just sods law! (or is it murphy's?). Just as well that Nycank had a uk sim card and we had exchanged phone numbers. Yesterday was warm and I didn't have a black jacket on. The pub was full of Indian people too. We managed to find each other fairly quickly with waving and phone calls. Shame that you weren't able to make it. Maybe another time. ![]() |

Yup. Had a couple of pints, as the weather was pleasantly warm and clear outside, we hung out outside.
