When will the next London meet-up be? There is a faint possibility of being around for it...if it were to take place first week of October... anyone?

Would it involve a beer, food and shelter from the elements? If yes, probably yes.

Oh, and please bring some Cretan sun and warmth with you, pretty parakalo.

Yes, of course, beer, plus Indian food, Cretan sun (if allowed on the plane). Do you have any suggestions of where and when? For me (and Mr. T-dancer) Friday 3rd or Saturday 4th October look do-able. Let's see if any other England IMers respond and if anyone has a good venue idea.

I will be elsewhere that weekend, but if you are heading into the Midlands or Wales after that, give me a shout!

You should know that if you do manage to smuggle some Cretan sunshine onto the plane, you will be THE most popular person in England!

How about meeting in THE INDIA HOTEL, reputed to be the oldest indian restaurant in london. Its a tiny little thing on Aldwych by Thai Square and the entrance to Kings College. The place is real quiet and it would be a good place to meet for a chat and beers.
October is good for me to ..

Do you mean The India Club because that's around there as well? I've been there a few times and can recommend it. It has good food and has the feel of a dhaba on GT Road.

I hope to be able to come along too. After the Bristol meetup, I had considered organising a meetup in Cambridge but that can wait for another time.

That's what I was thinking.

The India club is on the first floor of the Intercontinental hotel, great food, but no alcohol, but they allow you to bring your own.

I think the place has seperate afternoon and evening opening hours, and I've no idea if it's open at weekends, I've always thought the place was mainly for the Indian High Commision staff.

It would be a great place for a meet up, especially with Stanfords travel book shop very close by.

So, to recap what has been suggested so far:

London Meet-Up on either Friday, 3rd October or on Saturday, 4th October.

Venue suggested, seconded, approved? - The India Club - need to check that they will be open!

Members who might attend so far:

theyyamdancer(+ Mr. t-dancer)
Kingstonian
rikko (?)
cooksisters
sssall
steven ber

This is starting to look like a real meet-up (my first!) - plenty of time for more to join in.

Hey sssall, glad to see you back! How was your holiday?

I have unconfirmed plans for the 3rd/4th which involve me being in Birmingham, so might have to miss this one. We'll see.

Thanks for the welcome back and congratulations to you. I see that you've been 'promoted' to a mod. Hope you're going to keep all the other mods in check.

As for my holiday, it was great. Me and Mrs_s did a driving holiday and visited several places including Madrid, Seville, Toledo, Salamanca and Zaragoza in Spain, and also Bordeaux, Biarritz, St Emilion and Pau in France. We visited a few World Heritage Sites along the way too, which were excellent.

Hope to see you at the meetup.
