London Meet Up -- 25th February 2006

Looking for an excuse for a curry and too much Kingfisher? Here's a good one: The IndiaMike London Meet-Up!

Whether you've been here for years or only just signed up, join us for an afternoon of delicious food and general moaning about being stuck in rainy London rather than sunny Delhi. (For a rambling discussion of what these meet-ups are, see this old thread.)

We're meeting on Saturday, Feb 25, at 2pm, at New Tayyabs, 83-89 Fieldgate St., London E1 1JU (map). It's a short walk from Whitechapel tube station.

Please PM Alchemy and/or steven_ber if you're planning to attend or if you have any questions.

Hope you have a great meet-up and enjoy the food at Tayyabs. I am sure you will be enjoying as much as we did recently in Mumbai and now that you've bumped us off the IM front page, I am sure you will get a better response too!!!

This place has great food, have eaten here a couple of times. But for all those foodies that like a bit of cobra with thier indian, this is a dry place that allows you to bring your own drink.

But thier Mango lassi is out of this world.

Sorry guys. Would love to have been there to put faces to names and hopefully make some friends, but am leaving for Delhi on sunday and will most probably tearing my hair out with last minute work and shopping.

Oh thats a good place..been there once and loved it ( I had a take away)...
wish I was there...can it be like the movie ' The Fly'? where one could travel 1000s of KM in seconds...!!!!!

It will be great to meet you all; another member has let me know by PM that they will be there.

I've met Beena450 briefly at a meet-up, but as far as I'm aware, all the others are attending their first London meet-up.

So any others worried that this will be like some kind of closed club needn't worry, it's just a meal with a group of people who share the same interests as you, some who've been to India, others who are planning to.

Some people often leave after the meal (as I will have to this time), so if you can only come for an hour or so, you'll be made to feel most welcome.

People can share opinions about places they have visited (or plan to visit), and give their opinions as to the best way to get from A to B.

Even if you've never posted on Indiamike, you're welcome to attend.

See you all soon.

Enjoy the rambling session y'all! I'd have liked to whine about being stuck in cold, rainy, gloomy Paris instead of sunny Delhi but can't make it to London!
I will inform my friends about the get-together though, it doesn't matter if they r not indiamikers, right? coz they r India fans
