Well, Jyotida's idea is a good one, but perhaps not practical since almost everyone at the meet-up will be coming from work!

Secondly, how do we recognize each other. Should we book any table in advance for this purpose.

Aminia won't book a table in advance as such and their goodies sell off quickly. One or two of you can go a bit early and take a table upstairs and talk with the manager.

I've been in Cal since Sept 07 and this is the first meetup I can attend and I will be bringing my husband. Can someone tell me where Aminia is in New Market? Maybe relative to Empire Cinema?

Well, looking at the map, if you have the Empire Cinema behind you, you need to go around or through New Market and into Hogg Street, on the Esplanade metro side (not the Lindsay Street side). And Aminia is in Hogg Street. I'm so glad you asked because I thought myself, erroneously, that the restaurant was on Lindsay St.!

To keep things simple:

1. Stand in front of New Empire with the cinema entrance at your back.
2. Go right (and you bump into one of the entrances of New Market)
3. Go left
4. Go right at first crossing
5. Go left at first crossing and Aminia will be on your right

Total walking time: 3-4 mins
