Dear Captain,

I got stuck with some important work in the fore-noon and in the afternoon, I had been to Bhongir Fort with two other IRFCians.
I am extremely sorry, our "meet-up" proposed earlier, got faded away from my memory.

I shall meet you in person shortly to fix another date.

wanderer in town

hi guys,
am just two days old at this site, and two months old in hyderabad. hit upon this site just by chance, and what a discovery it is. i hardly know anyone around except for the officers posted with me( am in the army). and they are as clueless about this place as me. my knowledge is limited to whatever the travel guides say, but am sure the city has much more to offer. any one interested in helping me around?

Hi Debashsish
Please let me know your areas of interest and we all will jump to your help.....

There are quite a number of places to visit within Hyderabad and some very good food options...... to start with you can visit some of the very famous places given in travel guides

Hi

there are not too many offbeat places around hyderabad

thinking of weekend breaks in Hyderabad, it seems they are very limited

1/1-2 days trip
---------------------
1) Nagarjuna Sagar
2) Sri Sailam
3) Warrangal

3-4 days trip
------------------------
1) vizag
2) hampi

in Hyderabad you get the best halim's during month of ramazan ......... i am not aware whether you can get good halim at this time of the year ...... i am not an avid fan of Hyderabadi biryani after having tasted biryani from Kolkata's Siraz......

Shiraz is a very famous resturant on Park Street & AJC Bose road crossing in Park Circus.......

I tried to send you a private message but it seems that you have chosen not to recieve private messages in IndiaMike.com » User Control Panel » Edit Options

your name suggests that you are from eastern part of india....... you can get bengali food all over twin city...... in fact there is a take away resturant chain by name "roll call" near trimulgery in secunderabad where you can get chop, cutlet, moglai and rolls....

welcome to twin city and have a nice time

Hi Debashish, welcome to Hyderabad!

Like Khak mentioned, there are not many weekend options around Hyderabad. However, if you are into history and old monuments etc., Bidar will be a nice place to visit. The fort there is worth the trip. Its around 120 Km from Hyderabad.

Vikarabad will be another option for a short drive - its around 80 km or so. Nothing much there, but years back it was a fairly popular picnic spot. Slightly hilly area, with a valley you can trek down to if you are into those sort of things. I have just driven down there, so dont really know how the trek is.

Nagarjunasagar is good for a drive - you can start in the morning and come back by evening. Srisailam will require you to stay overnight since it takes around five hours or so to reach there.

And Warangal ( havent been there myself ) has the thousand pillar temple etc.
