Parul, welcome to Indiamike. I have been blogging 4 years now along with a regular job.
![]() Do you upload your pictures somewhere? You can do so on Indiamike too. Maybe we should call for a meetup for a change somewhere in Gurgaon! |

Hi Mridula and Parul,
Nice to see some activities on Gurgaon meetup page. Parul: just to answer your earlier question, my wife joins me for most of the meetups but definately majority is with males. I attended a meetup in Delhi yesterday and we had 6 ladies for the meetup. Anyone for a Gurgaon Meetup?

Would you guys ever consider meeting near the shops (there is CCD and Domino's) in front of the Rotary Public School near Sector 23?

We’ve and had meetups at coffee shops like CCD/barista, restaurants and even some at member’s home, so venue is not a big issue it is more dependent on what and which venue is more convenient to the members coming for the meetup.
So I see no problem in having a meetup near shops or at CCD etc.. |

29th looks fine, lets announce it and lets see how many memebers are interested and then can finalise the venue around a week before the meetup. Sounds right? nycank: yes you're right now I know two Docs into photography and on IM, parul and labrol. I'm not a doc but into photography, will be updating my camera equipmemts in Sept when I'll be in Hong Kong on a business trip. |

Vinay if it is over lunch I will definitely try to make it. I have a hopeless sense of direction and can get lost even in a phone booth if it has two exits!
My chances of survival during the day are better. |

During the day? Arre naukri bhi karne do bhai! Some of us work in delhi as well
![]() I'm IN! And don't worry Parul - its not a "boys gang" as you may think - you could speak to nikhilsegel or his wife roohan for a more appropriate perspective ![]() @Mridula: Don't worry. I have excellent guidance skills. We can guide you around most areas - or have someone pick you up/guide your car! @Parul: I'd hope that you get your D90 to a meet soon. I've been agonising between a 40D and a D90 for nearly two weeks now and soon need to take a decision - your inputs will be quite useful - even the Nikon DSLR zone doesn't have one on display!

If you do not already have a substantial investment in lenses, look beyond Nikon.

![]() Ah, but you're based in noida, else we could've met up and furthered the confusion a bit more! http://www.bangalorephotographyclub....php?f=3&t=7401 http://www.thephotographer.in/darkro...read.php?t=423 http://www.thephotographer.in/darkro...read.php?t=438 http://www.thephotographer.in/darkro...read.php?t=414 should do for starters, as also the samples section ![]() PS: have gone through each sample shot of 40D/500D/450D/D90/D5000 on DPreview |

Feature for feature, Nikon is bulkier and cumbersome than Canon.

I've used two DSLRs - SONY a.k.a Minolta and Canon. DSLRs are like never satisfied GF/BF always needy of more accessories and doodads that you might like to have and never want or use ![]() Canon/Nikon/pentax/olympus all offer a range of DSLRs from advanced amateur to pro-gear. All of them take good photos and all of them have pretty good feature sets. If you get a DSLR and shoot raw, then soon you'll need a good computer, faster graphics card, storage the size of Everest, and then you will realize.. You need a Mac ![]() |
