The Chicago IM crew is few and far between, believe me. I have given up trying to organize meet-ups. I go to a restaurant named Dakshin on Ogden in Naperville. All the guys there are from Chennai or Tamil Nadu and the food is authentic South Indian.
If anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

How many actually live in Chitown and how many in the boroughs ? or whatever you'll call it - 'burbs ?
Normally I take the a shuttle in the AM and back on the last shuttle back to Laguardia. I have one or two trips that require an overnight
I am up for drinks and blues...

the burbs.
Chicagoland is so big people can live 40 miles outside of Chicago -- like me -- so to get any type of meet off the ground that means people may be coming from 40-50 miles away from every direction (except east, of course, unless they swim.) people may not have cars if they live in the city, may not want to drive far (depending on where the meet is), and if the meet is in the burbs, public transportation can be problematic at best or non-existent.
the last few (rare) meet-ups have been in Indian restaurants: one in Oak Park, on Devon, one in Naperville.
if someone ever organizes another one, let me know.....
