yep, 28th at the Amethyst. I found a different hotel, the Taj Recency, which I think is closer to the Amethyst. I hope a few turn up, probbly will. See you there !!

Hey!

I have just discovered this website and i m quite surprised that there s so much posting going on...
anyways, my parents live in Chennai and I m visiting them, and doing a placement starting next week...Unfortunately, my parents have a different fun shedule than I do and I m a bit bored during the evenings at the moment..so is anyone in and around Chennai, who would like to meet and do something? I m not very complicated, so i would join in..no matter what

oh and it doesn t have to be during the evening, i would be grateful for any time actually

I have been a lurker here on indiamike for awhile. Used the site to plan a few shorter trip for work and now I'm here for 3 months or so with a few short breaks to Maldives and Singapore planned. I'd like to meet up as well on the 28th. I'm learning my way around and am staying at the New Woodlands in Mylapore. Very interesting spot. Thanks to everyone posting before on this thread and all the others. Great resources for a new person arriving in Chennai.

My previous stays in Chennai were very short along the order of a week or so all told. This trip was planned out for awhile due to extended work requirements with our company offices here in Chennai.

I'm definitely looking for suggestions on places to eat, drink, and maybe even be an honorary ex-pat

I've been reading the conversations re meeting up on the 28th with interest. I arrived in Chennai on Monday and will be here for 6 months (work reasons!)

If ok with whoever is organising the meetup I may turn up. I'm staying in Anna Nagar and have absolutely no idea what the distance to the location is. I will look into that beforehand.

Oh, I'm from UK, and yes of Indian origin. It's possible you may have worked that out from the name.

Could we all have a dress "theme', like russian turnip farmers or something.?
Maybe dress up as your favourite mode of transport, or, the most horrible dentist you ever went to.
Mine was in Shillong, I'll never forget that face glowering over me.
It was like a trip to the Island of Dr. Moreau.
