I'll be there for a meetup in Mid July, and Besant Nagar suits me very well.

I'm arriving in Chennai on the 27/28th July, for a few days.
. Does anyone feel like a meetup?. I would love to meet some IMers.
I'll be staying at the Mallika Residency, which I think is in Mount Rd.
Meeran Sahib st.
It has a restaurant I hear, not sure of the quality. but from memory ,
Mount rd. is quite central isn't it?

Mounts Road, new name Anna Salai, runs through much of central Chennai: it is long!

Is anna Salai really Mounts road. Why didn't they say?
It's around the corner from the GPO, in Meeran Sahib st., off Blackers road.
Not far from the Triplicane Police Station.
Sounds fairly central, near the GPO.

Yes, it really really is the same!

I'm not able to reach behind me to my Chennai city map book just now, and, although I guess I could see the same Chennai on Google Maps here as I could there, I'm tuned in to London geography just now!

Google Maps has Chennai pretty well covered. MapMyIndia is worth a look too.

Triplicane is sort-of between Anna Salai and the sea, north of Royapettah.

How long are you staying in Chennai?

I'm there about 4 or 5 days, maybe more. I might get down to Mahabalipuram, but the aggressive fishermen/sex touts, are a bit too much to cope with.
I haven't really seen all of Chennai.
