Machadinha is coming to Chennai

... on Thursday morning. He's keen to meet up with IMers here, and suggests that we have a meet.

How about this coming Sunday?

My suggestion for venue is a return (it's been a while) to Amethyst in Gopalapuram.

--- it's pleasant to sit in the garden

--- it's quiet enough for chat

--- it's fine to eat or just drink tea/juice

--- the food is ok and not too expensive

--- it is a little bit posh

--- it is pretty central and easy to access for most.

Oh I'm here alright

Had a smooth landing, then spent a wonderful morning and early afternoon enjoying my peaceful Broadlands balcony. Observing the wonderful courtyard + garden, the cats walking around, the squirrels and birds in my tree... (crow getting very confused with another species answering his calls).

Starting up on my Q&A book (the book to Slumdog Millionaire), fairly gripping; chatting to my Italian-Belgian-French-Spanish neighbor in pretty much all of those languages, with some English thrown in for good measure; etc. Taking pics of gardener/cleaner at his request, and so on.

Looking forward to meet y'all folks; I'll be making some local calls presently.
