Anyone up for dinner on Sunday (Feb 22)?

I have 2 places in mind.

1. Tasty Jones - Pondy Bazzar Area
2. Pupil - Besant Nagar

Both companies are part of the same chain and both serve burgers. Tasty Jones seems to have some Italian options on the menu while Pupil offers some Chinese options.

I have not been to Tasty Jones, but Pupil has some good burgers at a cheap price. The double cheese burger was only 90 rupees with a small amount of fries. Extra fries (cheese fries) were only 50 rupees.

Just saw this post--I was out of town for a while and am behind on my Indiamike reading! I hope the Zara's meetup was fun. I think we're free on Sunday Feb. 22 if that is indeed happening--I'd advocate for the location near Pondy Bazaar as opposed to Basant Negar for ease of getting there.

Whatever. I do enjoy visiting some of these restaurants that I never normally would*, and grumbling about the prices is part of the game.

For another time: there's a Lebanese in Kotturpuram that a friend told me is very good.

*as long as they don't try and make me wear boots and trousers

50 rupees was about a plate full of fries topped with cheese. Common Nick, we spent over 5 times that amount at Bella Ciao.

Pizza sounds good, maybe the weekend after?

I'm cool with either place. I know that the Besant Nagar place is cheap, don't know about Tasty Jones.

homerpunita seems to be the key person on this.

Usually it goes, when a meet is arranged at fairly short notice, like a week, that we'll see who expresses interest on the thread here, and we'll finally confirm a couple of days before.

There's no need to call anybody; just turn up!

Numbers have been fairly modest recently, fours and fives, so don't expect a crowd --- although we have had bigger get-togethers.

I'll swing by Tasty Jones and look at the menu. If the prices are reasonable, we can go there.

There were only two of us at Zara's, however the place was nice and the conversation was great.

I have about 4 weeks left in India and I am finally going home

, so I would not mind doing something every week before I leave.

In March (first or second week), I am going to go to Barbecue Nation. The prices are a little on the high side (if you think in Rupees), but the food looks good and you can eat as much as you want.

I was not able to get to Tasty Jones today. Since time is running out and I enjoyed Pupil, I guess Pupil at Besant Nagar it the spot.
