Yes I had set it and was receiving mails till I was active, it just stopped after I became a little inactive... and since I started posting 2 days ago, I started getting email alerts again.

Had no idea that a meetup was planned until I received an alert mail today and by that time I was already in Pondicherry for a big break till Wednesday... Missed the last 2-3 meetups, will make it next time for sure.

Doesn't work this time. Last week, I drove from Sweden to attend the Amsterdam meeting, and am constantly checking the Delhi and Chennai meetup suggestions to see if my next trip will fit and vice versa.

There's so much more to see in those towns and surroundings like Mammallapuram, and I'm open to suggestions. Could for example someone tell me how to explain to an auto guy that I want to look at the humongous Banyan tree only, and not twenty other tourist sites that he regards more convenient?

Ambler, the MRTS is very good if it happens to run near where you want to go! Mylapore is some way away from the venue: there are nearer stations such as Indira Nagar, but I'm afraid I'm not up-to-date on the new MRTS extension, due to having a car

They have odd opening hours. I don't remember, but I think afternoon is 2.00 to 4.00.

It's on the way to Bella Ciao

The tree is not really that impressive to look at, but the gardens are an oasis of calm in Chennai, and well worth the visit!

I think the thing about that tree is its associations and the people who have sat under it. Maybe we ought to have an IndiaMike meet there!

The wind is getting up, but it looks as if we'll be ok for weather.

Might be raining by the time to go home! Cyclone has lessened to a deep depression passing to the South of Chennai. Even that probably won't be much fun for those in its path.

Steven and I will be on the way shortly.

I was so pissed off I couldn't make it for this one!! My friend suddenly decided to celebrate her birthday on the same night, and it would have been a lot of drama if I hadn't come...

So sad to hear that only a few people showed up, but also good to hear it made for good conversation

Let's plan the next one fast!!!

Would another day of the week be better? For me sunday night is fine, but maybe for variation we can change it? Then Mrs. N might also be able to join

I can't believe we didn't make it either. We were cleaning and cleaning and cleaning our appartment ( was pending for a long time) all day since morning, and by the evening both of us were so tired that just couldn't go anywhere

I agree with Mirjamd,let's plan for next meetup fast. Well, Sunday is perfectly fine for us, if it's Sat - my hubby won't be able to make it, he has MBA classes every Sat evening
Sorry I couldn't notify that we weren't coming, as I don't have anyone's mobile number
