Wish I could be at the meet up. I return to Chennai in November for a short visit and then Jan 2006 for three months........hope to see some IMers then.
This is a fantastic site - my daily 'fix' while I'm away from India! |

Is that one of those trendy USA-ish coffee places that serves expensive drinks with funny names and has loud music (and maybe a TV...)? I guess I'm not doing a good job of hiding the fact that I don't like places like that much ;-) But this is an IM meet: not an NH meet, so democracy rules. Other particpants? Other ideas? |

nict its a quiet place
coffee is around 40 rs but a damn goood capachino only advantage here is that is central and also we can relax yes it is a lil trendy i dont mind anywhere jsut a cool quiet place and its got cooling the heat is not gonna get better for 2 weeks at least ravin |

OK ravin, though I was thinking more in the R5-for-a-cup-of-tea line myself! I don't think I can bring myself to spend R40 on a cup of anything
 I'm also biased 'cos I can't drink coffee ---how's their tea? I don't mind drinking English-style once in a while, but the 'non-Indian' places I've been to seem not to be able to make chai or English tea properly. I totally agree on the AC though. This is my first Chennai May/June and AC is my friend! |

I am not sure i really care where we go. I dont know that many place in the city as i mainly frequent places locally. I will leave it up to other to decide this one although i am probably more inclined to really good chai and A/C myself.

chai and chit chat
during the day i am pretty flexible. just need to give a couple of days notice- may have a few ppl to bring with me. I do stuff all over town. I am not phased besides i am always up for seeing a new part of the city, so long as it does not include a trip to savanah stores - anyone had the pleasure?
 I hope a few more ppl come out to play nick although i think many have headed to the cooler north. |

hi
well barista has good teas also - around 20 rs - but nice ambience - i live in harrington road or chetpet - near shoppers stop - am ok anyways - i can come any time how does 14th sound - day after or u wanna make it 17th - spriritedchick not free 15 and 16th |
