Chennai Meetups

Depends what time . By the way, can I bring my hubby with me?
We are newly married and I still don't know Chennai well, so I'm not sure if he will let me go alone. So far he was afraid to let me go alone anywhere. But he knows that I really want to come to the meetup and is willing to come with me.

Seriously; he's welcome, of course. But also seriously, he should realise that this is a relatively safe city still.

Fine and no formalities. I think 8pm would be good on Friday the 9th.

We could meetup at the Rooftop Restaurant of Vestin Park Hotel on Montieth Road Egmore opp to Ambassador Pallava Hotel.

It's a bit on the late side for me. To be honest I don't think I relish an evening drive to Egmore and back until July... Enjoy and post a report!

I would have loved to meet some of the Chennai IMers. I will be there on 14/15/16th May. I guess its too much to expect another one, so soon after the 9th one

I also cant make it, my hubby is leaving for a week that night and want to spend some time with him... The week after that I am jobless, so if we can make it then, it'll be nice.

If even two or three of you can, and want to, get together tomorrow then I suggest you do it!

I can't come. I have to go to a public announcement that an 11-yr-old girl has had her first period.

Coming-of-age celebration. Totally weird idea to me, but there we go...

As I know, only ladies go this function... not know of any men who've been there except maybe for very close relatives

Interesting... I have been specifically requested to attend by the parents --- the father is our regular auto driver, when I'm not driving the car, or Mrs N is going alone.

This is a Christian family --- but I gather the procedure is not much different to a Hindu celebration. Until this occasion I didn't know that christians kept this function.

I think I've been to a Hindu one here, and certainly did in London. Although a close friend of the family in London anyway, it was attended by hundreds of people.

I have no wish to go. But they are good people, and I have even less wish to offend, or to be thought aloof or anything.

Me too suprised that christians have such a function, always thought it was a predominantly Hindu one... or maybe I never looked at it the other way.

You should go, savor another new & weird experience... and share it with us
