Chennai Meetups

Okay, time to grab this bull by the horns.

I arrive in Chennai on Wednesday 13th June, and will likely be apartment hunting/recovering from jetlag for the next couple of days.

However, barring further plans, let's have an IM meetup that weekend.

I've see nthe way things go in here, so at hte risk of being presumptious, I will declare...

7pm on Friday 15th June 2007

will be the next IM Chennai Meetup.

Location? Well, anywhere within reason is fine by me, better someone local chooses (Nick?)

So, with that in mind, let's discuss who's coming and where we will meet...

So, thoughts on a venue???

Somewhere reasonable, accessible and not too noisy/busy... I think Landmark cafe last time I was there was a bit too loud in music terms, also closed pretty early.

Any ideas?

Juice shop at Besant Nagar (that's where we did the last one) ?

Let's make it Vasantha Bhavan in Mylapore, as it's likely to be closer to where we'll be staying (still apartment hunting, likely to be at NewWoodlands the first couple of days anyway). Can you give me the address/directions Nick, in case the auto driver gets "lost"?

Wait.... Saravana Bhavan is the one visitors usually like to go to, although it tends not to suit my wife's stomach.

Vasantha Bhavan is my usual, it is a bit cheaper, and I prefer it.

However, the toilets are an undeniably revolting experience, whereas Saravanna Bhavan is fairly presentable.

How revolting is revolting? I am maybe bringing a couple of female friends and while I can pee in any toilet, I think there's more of a contact issue with ladies. Is it bad enough that we should change venue to give the ladies some comfort?
