Navaratri is happening, and I didn't even know about it?

Will probably visit some friends on one or two evenings. Used to be next-door neighbours. They are an orthodox brahmin family and take this very seriously. Half of their home (or more) is converted into a wonderland of kolu, and they do a full puja each evening.

Dushera is one day of the year that I miss being in London. My veena-teacher friend would have all her students come, each giving some performance, depending on their level from a few notes to a ragam tanaum pallavi (well, time allowing at least!). I would join the percussion section and play morsing for hours. Hard work, but fun

Near Ealing Road, Wembley, North London.

The sari and jewellery shops, not to mention the eateries and food shops, and, of course, one mosque, one S. Indian Siva temple and a North Indian temple under construction, would make you think you might be in India, though!

The mridangam is a drum though, no? Isn't what I'm looking at (they're nice pics, I'd seen them before) more of a Jew's harp though?

EDIT: Oh, I see now, that would be the morsing. Duh, never mind

Often played in accompaniment of one another, it would seem. (So which of the two do you play, or is it both? I seemed to remember you did the mridangam.)

Guys...Hope you all had a great meeting !

Last weekend, I had been to stand up comedy show, it was ok, not that funny!!!
I saw Mel, over there. Mel, are you there, still active ok IM?

Rotary organised Garba dandiya dace was very nice, had good time dancing, but garba dance is not an easy thing !

Looking forward to more Garba during Navratri.
