Nick, there are several posts on the forum where I have stated that I stay at Hotel Karpagam....remember ?

so I think best would be if everyone who is up for a meetup next Wednesday shall say so and suggest a meeting place.

I'm on for Wednesday.

If GfV doesn't like the sound of Crimson chakras, then I have two suggestions...

One is Annokhi (aprox spelling) in Chamier's road; a bit like Amethyst but smaller.

The other is Vasantha Bhavan in Mylapore. It's a while since we did simple S. Indian fare.

If we go for Vasantha Bhavan, though, I'm not giving GfV a lift --- I'm not srong enough to pick up someone and carry them upstairs!

(GfV... yes, I realised that's where you're staying...)

ooh, you mean Eco Cafe in Chamiers Road ? that's on my to-go-list anyhow, but in daytime for checking out the fashion and then grab a tea and some food.

I don't mind going in any "..... bhavan" food place, good enough for us low-maintenance folks

locationwise somewhere further north would be ok also, so I could get off the hopon-hopoff bus at Wallajah Road, which is starting point and also would be "end point".

That's where you took me on our first night out, no? Delicious, and very affordable I'd say. (That Amethyst I quite liked, and it has a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful garden too. Rather above the average budget level though I'd say. It is rather conducive to a meeting setting though, not sure how that is at Vasantha, Nick would know. Wasn't very crowded or noisy when we were there though.)

No problem... I like visiting Broadlands --- but you will, no doubt, remember the traffic and congestion on Triplicane High Road and surrounding streets. My wife says it has been known for this for a long time, even before the current explosion in vehicle numbers.

Yes, it was Vasantha Bhavan where we met. It can get busy there, but, early evening, mid-week, my guess would be it would be OK.

Saravanah Bhavan, accross the tank, is not so good for meets. They want people in, fed, paid and out, and are not co-operative about moving tables.

Yes, GfV... that's the Eco cafe.

I should definitely be back between 6.30 and 7 pm, depends on the departure times in Mamallapuram. I think someone has posted them in some thread, must go and check.

if I leave Mamallapuram at around 5 pm, I should arrive in time, right ?

Anyone else up for some chat and food ?

Have we decided on Vasantha Bhavan? South Mada St, Mylapore, by the tank. They have a car park at the back, drive in by China Bazaar, and the entrance to the AC room is that side too.
