Since there are more threads in London meetups than there are Londoners shacking in the beach huts of Goa

and none for any place or location between Náměstí Republiky and Juhu Beach...
Howabout Start November: Tel Aviv ?
Howabout Early November: Ramallah ?
Howabout Mid November: Paris ?

Hi nycank,
Paris in mid-November looks a distinct possibility.

There are very few IndiaMikers who live in Paris! In fact, I only know of one.... she is Khandoma.... let me try to get hold of her.
Does anyone have a good address in Paris for Indian food ?
(I know one or two, but they may be out of date. One is in the rue du Cail in the 19ème arrondissement. The other one is in the 14ème.)
Perhaps we should have a movie Meet-Up in the City of Light? Hopefully the new film "Midnight's Children" by Deepa Mehta, based on Salman Rushdie's novel, will be playing.... we could take our own "telebhaja" for a picnic..... !?!

@ nycank, You are right, the 10th arrondissement is "Little India" or "Little Jaffna". The rue Cail that I mentioned yesterday is actually in the 10th not the 19th. (My grasp on Paris geography is slipping it seems.) Anyhow, after reading about the latest trends online yesterday, it seems that there are still two good Indian restaurants: "Le Dishny", rue Cail, Paris DIXième; and "Saravanaa Bhavan", rue du Faubourg St Denis, Paris DIXième (also). Metro: Gare du Nord or La Chapelle. I would like to try the Saravanaa Bhavan, which is a worldwide chain of pure veg Southern Indian food. (Unheard of in Paris, to be 'sans viande'.) Let's think on it.
By the way, if anyone wants to buy ingredients to make their own Indian food, then the Cash & Carry on rue Cail (round the corner from La Chapelle metro) is amazing. They have all the spices you need plus a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables and fruit. You can even buy jasmine garlands and Sandalwood soap and hundreds of other items, including newspapers in Tamil.
Should you be in need of sari material, you'll find that too on the rue du Faubourg St Denis! Bollywood DVDs, puja items; you name it, you will find it.
