Hi Tony

I don't think anyone else is coming from your way. But what about getting a train from Ledbury? There's one that leaves at 10:08 and arrives at 12:00. No, wait that goes to Bristol Parkway. The 10:07 arrives at Temple Meads at 12:36 though.

Any good?

Mike

Just returned from a most agreeable afternoon in Bristol.

mmmm ... Masala dosa, rasam, something yummy with pumpkin and coconut and black beans whose name I've forgotten, followed by payasam ... followed by proper cider (including the 8% falling over juice Bristolian, which slipped down way too easily).

Many thanks to Mikewill for organising us, and to Ssall for chauffeuring services (fortunately in a nice modern Ford, not an autorickshaw or guru and tinsel encrusted Ambassador).

Hope Hippychick, Moonraker & Londoner are all right - we missed you.

For the next English India Mike meet, Mike suggested the London Mela.

For the avoidance of doubt, this year's London Mela is on Sunday 10 August. See website: http://www.londonmela.org/default1.a...ge%20 Maidaan

I'd be up for that. Might even be a good excuse to wear salwar kameez.

Here's hoping Kingstonian's car/budget/work crises are all fixed by then.

Sssall also had a cunning plan in the car on the way home, but I'll leave him to make that suggestion.

That was a great meetup. Really enjoyed everyone's company and had a great day. Thanks Mikewill for organising it.

It was a pleasure being a chauffeur. If the cunning plan comes to fruition then I may use an autorickshaw next time to give the authentic Indian feel. More about that another day.

I'm really annoyed that I'm not going to be around during the London Mela. I almost feel like cancelling my plans just to be there.

Glad you all enjoyed it and got home safely - I thought it all worked out rather well and we didn't even get too wet.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves too, but the parental visit on the way home meant I have only just got down to looking at the photos.

I'm afraid that neither shot is really useable - I'm not sure what our host was focussing on, but it certainly wasn't any of us. I thought the face recognition would ensure it was OK, but it clearly needs more work! I meant to take more later while we were sampling cider (very nice and no ill effects ) but I think we shall have to continue our dubious tradition of remaining anonymous at our meetups. Sorry - failed again . Will check to see if I can remove photos I have uploaded - could put it up briefly at a pinch.

I suppose we should post something on the London meetups thread about the possible Mela meet. Thanks for checking the date Mrs C.

Looking forward to the next one!

Sounds like an awesome time, folks. Unfortunately, we've had a lot less luck organizing the NYC meetup.

Have somewhat reluctantly posted the photos in my gallery. Little chance of anyone being recognised as a result!

Should probably have added a link here and out them in a more logical place, but if you're keen I'm sure you'll find them!

I'll remove them again in a few days!

Hi Mike & All...

If you are planning any more meetups in the South West, then me and lady average would love to come along.

We would have come to this one, but were on a short break to Avignon at the time. Sounds like you had a good time.

sorry missed it this time....i live in bath a few miles away and would have loved to attend.

Good choice with Krishnas Inn. Probably one of the only 2 Indian restaurants in the Southwest area. the other is the recently opened Ganesha near Bedminister (havent tried it yet).
