Thanks Captain!

I expect the proposed Severn Barrage will solve everything. Over my dead body!

Any excuse to get this thread going

Bristol meetup sounds like a great idea, it's closer and more convenient than London for me. Can't make this one, as due to someone's chaotic generosity, I have tickets for two events 140 miles apart on Saturday 5th July.

Make it a good one folks, I want there to be another!

Excellent! The more the better. Look forward to meeting you. Anyone else able to confirm yet?

As this new thread has a bit of catching up to do, post count wise, I'm going to say that if the Severn Barrage stops the Severn Bore, I am definitely against it!

Logistics for the 5th.

What time are people planning to meet in Bristol?

Will anyone be driving from the London-ish direction who could give me a lift (I live in Farnborough, just off J3 of the M3)?

If not, how easy is it to get from Bristol Parkway station to Clifton & Krishna's Inn? What about from Temple Meads?

I have a car that we (all the London IMers) can go together in, unless The Londoner would like to volunteer. I have a small/medium size of car.

I'm going to be away Friday to Monday so may not be able to read IM site. (is there a SwedenMike, do they have internet in Stockholm, do the women really have very long legs, etc. These are just some of the silly questions that come to mind )

Assume that I will definitely be OK for Bristol Meetup. I'll catchup with any new messages on Tuesday.

Looking forward to Bristol Meetup.

I rang Krishna's Inn and told them we would probably be there around 12:30. We need to confirm numbers a couple of days beforehand. They close at 3 so I guess we might need to find a good pub too. Any ideas? I'll have a hunt around.

I'm afraid I don't know Bristol so can't recommend any pubs for afterwards. Is Karuna coming? If so, might be worth our checking out a serious cider pub, Bristol being serious cider country.

Thanks to ssall for the offer of transport. Happy to chip in towards petrol costs, whoever ends up driving.

If you're up for a bit of a walk - less than a mile, via the floating harbour - and do want to try some cider the Apple on Welsh Back http://www.applecider.co.uk/ has a huge range and gets good reviews. We could sit inside or outside depending on the weather.

The Bag o' Nails is closer but the reviews are varied!

If we eat as much as we did at the London meet earlier this year, the longer walk to the Apple would be a very good idea.

Ssall - sorry - just noticed I said j3 of the M3 - I meant j4. If the detour is a problem, [U do[/u] let me know so I can make alternative plans.

Fingers crossed the weather stays warm and sunny for Saturday.

Hi Mike

Tony Little has been unable to log on to the website as he has forgotten his password. he has tried to reset his password via the webmaster but this has been unsuccesful. he has emailed the contact noted on the website so hopefully should hear something back soon.

he has asked that i let you know that he will make it this Saturday (subject to his tummy being ok!)

he is looking forward to seeing you all again.

kind regards

Taz

Saturday 5th July at Krishna's Inn on the Triangle in Bristol
OK, you might as well have said downtown Ulaanbataar to this clueless noob! Imagine the only part of Bristol I know is Temple Meads station. Now imagine I am standing forlornly there. Where do I go to get to the fabled Krishna's Inn?

Thank you

Oh, I'd have offered to pick you up from the station, but alas, new cam belt + new clutch + repairs to gear box + sudden work overload = no car, no money, no jaunts, no trip to Bristol, nose firmly applied to grindstone, no excuses.

Have a great day! (trying to be nice about it ...)
