Hey penumbra, my friend and I are staying in Koramangala too, and she used to work in Shanghai. How about telling me more about yourself, and perhaps we can arrange a meetup one day?

Well I am now in Bangalore. If anyone is interested in meeting up, please let me know. I am staying near MG so I am close to a lot of the pubs and such.

I still can't beleive I am here for a year... I feel like I'm going home in a week like I normally would.

Hi Indjun, I've always wanted to check out the pub scene here but not sure what I'd expect. I'm an Asian female, so that'd be an anomaly amongst the locals. How're the pubs/clubs like? Do I have to be wary of gropers (can't help with the gawkers I guess), and basically is it safe ?

The high-end pubs and clubs are safe. However if you go alone then be prepared for a lot of attention. In five star hotel restaurants and coffee shops - don't know about nightclubs - you will be left alone.

A meetup is a good idea. Anybody willing to get the ball rolling?

Actually I see quite a bit of Asian-looking females at the higher end pubs. They may be from North India, but they look Oriental (not sure if that's a politically correct term, but don't want to say Asian since everyone born in India is Asian). Nonetheless, I don't think you would have too many problems. If you'd like we can hit one up. Actually I hear that the Taj Residency has a nice lounge. I will check it out tonight.
