Had a great meet up - as always :)
It was yet another great day out for the bangalore IM'rs..
Stormysky suggested a cozy hidden place with Karoke and a nice dance floor (though the music was a bit too loud for the talktive IM'rs) I was late due to work and traffic, and I picked the host of the meet, natasha and the man who walks - phantom in the way and we reached the venue about 40 mins late (8pm ish). We were welcomed by four people already there - stormysky and his wife, lonelyaztec and her husband. We slowly settled in and the conversations flowed. After the initial introductions, we ventured into unlimited amount of narrations of past adventures.. topics - we touched upon were - dream destinations, scariest moment, elephant experiences, monkey experiences, cheapest accommodation, ghost stories, film stories and interpretation, interests, adventures AND without fail, travel stories... It was no doubt fun, but more than that after about an hour or so, we looked like a bunch of college pals having a blast and not like a first time get toghether. Words fail me in explaining how good the time was. Everyone jelled toghether so well and the plan is to go for a joint trip with this group, which I am sure would be a great experience.. Food kept coming into the table and disappearing, and no one had any clue on the time. Finally we had to stop "early" just before midnight and by then natasha's hubby also joined us. After the dessert, we had to say a reluctant, goodbye to everyone and head for home (work for me). This certainly would be one of the most cherished meetup memory in my mind. Each time we have a meetup, I feel that this is the best meetup, but now I feel that each meetup is different in its own right and has its own memories to cherish ![]() Its 3 am and I am back to work ![]()

Thanks for the 'detailed update' Sudheer. Sounds like a lot of fun indeed. Looking forward to such meets in the future and certainly with a group trip in mind would be awesome.

Yup!!! It was good fun.
It was nice meeting all the folks. Actually we had a representation from all the metros in this meet. One person each from Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta and Madras... all meeting together at Bangalore. We had so many stories about our travels it was really fantastic. Add to that roof top restaurant on a overcast evening, nice music (country, old pop, elvis and a lot of Jim Reeves), lots of yummy food, beer, rum and wine.... it was a great evening. All in all it was a great evening. |

Hi everyone,
The Bangalore IM meet up was really good. I thought my husband will feel out of place, and will keep quite. But, he really enjoyed the crowd. I was very apprehensive too. I thought, all of us will have a fruit juice and then leave....but, as we started speaking...abt travel..and everything related to travel...which is the binding factor among us...we did not know where the chilly potatoes, chilly chicken, riviera wine, and the unlimited beer disappeared. The place was good too. Big thanks to Natasha for bringing all of us folks together. And, i am sure, we will have lots of these get togethers...to meet and share our travel stories. |

Well.. now the onus is on u lonelyaztec.. as you are responsible for arranging the trip. We already have one dampener when u proposed that the trip shud be scheduled in august, when all of us were thinking of sometime in May.. !!!
Anyways, the meetup was gud.. the place was nice but not suitable for the first time get togethers coz of the loud music. But somehow, we managed ![]() It was gud fun.. and hope to see u guys soon with a lot many newcomers... ![]() |

Hi guys,
It was wonderful being with you ppl. (Now I'm an official member !) The only way I can describe the meet is in Bumbaiya Hindi - "Saala tum sublok ko mil ke apun tho ekdam hil gaya…"(smile) Loosely translated by urs truly it means - "It was a pleasant surprise." You all will be hearing more from me… Till then (smile)... Starrynite (Go figure it out...)

A very warm welcome to starrynight, what a way to make an entrance - Mumbai stlyle :P
And in filmy style I would describe that evening as "Sudheeeer,,,,,,,, khush hua" Now where is Arvind hiding, he was such a great sport and so cheerful. I already am missing him, hope our pal pops up here very very soon. And whats up with Natasha's ear splitting silence !!! Nats where are you ??? |
