Amsterdam Meetups

Well due to roadworks and a cancelled bus I won't make it

I could have made it but it would have been so late there would have been no point, my apoligies to Mach and Idojingai another time for sure!!

Amsterdam IM Meetup report - 06Nov05.

The location was Cafe Soundgarden on Marnixstraat, a lively bar near what looked like a church. (Mac did tell me its name but I dont rememeber now.)
The bar man had a few cats, one of which came into my lap and lounged on it just like a small street kid in India would come near you and ask for trinkets.

The converstions were interesting and were mostly about India in 'reality' ... is that right Mach?

And I also used Mach as my tour guide in Amsterdam for free... hes quite knowledgable on the city's history actually.

After some nice Belgian white beers (its name I dont remember either... ) we had a stroll across towards the Dam Square. All that talking had build us a good appetite and we went in for a place famous for some genuine chinese food. (well China is close to India ... so it's all relevant.

Hopefully we can have more IM members in future Amsterdam IM meetups.

Too bad there Cyber, hopefully next time indeed! I'm all for early Dec., that is if Indo isn't fed up with it yet. I'll see what we can cook up in the PM & we'll be sure to let you guys know! The more the merrier.

Meet-up like Indojingai described was a full pleasurable entre-nous. Time flies when you're talking sense! IJ how did the Dam pic work out? And Pareltje the cat haha! You should have seen the look on IJ's face when she hopped aboard! Hey i guess she must have liked you, the honor is not for everyone

You mean Westerkerk? http://www.westerkerk.nl/ . Pretty isn't it.They do tours I think but maybe only groups.

Nice meeting up Indojingai. Next time I'm thinking of Brouwerij het IJ (near the mill); the Punjabi simple eatery I was talking about; and a stroll along the IJ river (not to be confused with IJ the IndoJingai), perhaps including that canal boat ride or for lack of finances a free hop across the river and back by ferry!

Mac: Great plan we'll work something out that time and around middle of December I may go to India.

Vinay: If I go to India around Xmas, I'd like to join a Delhi IM meetup that time. Similarly, you're welcome to give us a shout if you/any Dilliwalla Im'er comes here.

I got a private message about a meeting in Amsterdam and i am interested!

I live in the pijp near the Albert Cuijp Market, there are some nice cafes/bars in the neighbourhood so maybe thats a option?

Nice places in the pijp is the place were i work o donnells irish pub on the Marie Heineken plein, Bazar on the Albert Cuijp straat and there are some other places! I only know a few Indian restaurants around there but not any bars/cafes.

Those dates are ok for now but want to know quick cause need to plan some other things.

Jenniferinindia: If you are okay with it, lets fix it for 22nd Jan. It seems we are in favour of a day time meetup so any odd place in De Pijp will be fine.
