Travelling from Pune to Delhi in my car?

I am driving down from pune to Delhi on 2nd Jan.......wondering if i can get some company ?

highly depends on route used....if via NH 3(Dhule-Agra-Delhi) then definitely some bad patches but other route via NH 8 (Pune - Mumbai - Ahemadabad - Jaipur - Delhi) which comes under golden quadrilateral is 4 lane highway throughout & is in excellent condition...

NH8 is under major construction/conversion from Ahmadabad to Mumbai. So that is where the nightmare starts.

I'll still opt for NH-8 ....at least road till Surat was in good condition till couple of months ago,although no idea about current condition of further road till Ahemadabad that shouldn't be a much problem even if its in bad shape .
Surat - Bharuch -Vadodara is approx. 150 km distance ....from Vadodara there's NE-1 expressway for Ahemadabad on which you cannot travel with your bike anyway ...so you only have to negotiate bad patch till Vadodara (if there's any - remaining by June 09 )

I guess the road is pretty much OK, except for the 6-laning being done after Surat, while going to Del from Mumbai. I loved the NH-8 route, especially the Rajasthan part... Great view and roads that can let u do 150+ on the speedometer... I did a trip in Dec'08 and Jan'09...
