travel to delhi, agra, jairpur over xmas holidays

Hi, I'm a Canadian woman living and working in Bangladesh. Planning to be in Northern India sometime over holidays, would be glad to team up with another traveller to visit some major sites or for train travel.

Hi Paula, I have to be back in Bangladesh for Jan 6 latest, so I was looking to go soon after Xmas - would consider delaying a bit if found compatible person to share some days with. I could start in Delhi prior to your arrival perhaps. What are you interested in seeing/doing? I like the cultural/historical stuff but also enjoy the markets and street life in general. My first time in India.

Hi Hilary, it will be my first time in India as well. I'm planning to go to Agra on January 1 or 2nd for the day and then heading directly to Jaipur for two days before head heading futher into Rajasthan. I would be doing the usual touristy stuff and markets as well- haven't quite worked out what I will be seeing in Jaipur but Taj Mahal for sure in Agra.

Hi again, Paula, forgive delay in responding. Sounds like a good starting point. Perhaps we could link up to travel to Agra and on to Jaipur. I was thinking of a couple of days in each after Delhi. My impressions from talking to people is that India for a woman on her own is quite do-able, but being a two-some makes train travel and being out at night safer and evening meals less solitary!

Have you already decided on accommodation yet? I have not gotten this far, but I'm not in backpacking mode - would go for something middle-of-the-road, hopefully something with a nice flavour of India, rather than a generic hotel experience. Where are you on this spectrum? Obviously, not essential to stay in the same place - but would be easier logistically. If we still seem to be on the same wavelength, let me know. Hello, Lisa. I'm a chinese and will travell to india alone. will land in delhi 12/23 morning, and head for Agra in 12/24, 12/25 will head to Jaipur. Do you have the same plan? Maybe we could meet up.

Hey Rena I am a 32 yr male from Canada, and I arrive in Delhi on the 6th and plan to stay there for a couple of day , I'd like to do some sight seeing and maybe check out the local markets, and experience the night life.
