Hi Neenypie, I'm flying to Delhi on 2nd September. I've booked in to a guest house for 7 days. I was then thinking of heading to the Kumaon hill stations but don't have any plans beyond that. I've got 11 months to kill!! I'm a single (and perfactly safe!) male aged 38. I can't decide whether to go it alone or to hook up with someone from this site. I'm a first time traveller. If I'd read your post yesterday I think I may be jumping at the chance but I read this thread earlier today :
I'm not going there again,,,,,,,, I'm sure it's best to visit places and make up your own mind, but it seems there's a lot of overlap between your planned route and towns mentioned in this thread. That's the only reason I'm a little cautious. I'd like to visit South Goa and Kerala, but haven't read up on Amritsar and Shimla yet...but will do right away I'm also am very open to the idea of doing some (if not a lot) of charity work so there's definitely some common ground. Let me know what you think. As I said earlier, I'm completely flexible and haven't yet decided on whether to travel alone or not. Either way, I figure it doesn't hurt to touch base with fellow travellers. All the best for now, mark. |

Hi Mark,
I am going to be in N. India in October and have 5 1/2 months to kill!! I am a first time solo traveler and a little nervous. I will be in Rishikesh on Oct 17th. Let me know if you'd like to meet me there or if you have any other ideas. I will be arriving in Delhi on Sept 29th (my 38th birthday!) and joining a group to Agra-Pushkar-Amritsar-Dharmshala-Chandigarh-Rishikesh. This is where I begin my solo journey. I am open to re-tracing some of my steps if I find somewhere cool to hang out or exploring new (obviously!). I am flexible. Be in touch if you are interested in staying in touch. Kris (from Washington State, US) |
