We're touring India right now actually, and the teasing/staring bit is not too bad. The description I put up was actually that of me and my GF (as seen from the avtar). Just be careful about who you meet!

Its good to know that foreigners love India as equal to Indians do. And thank god finally people (aka foreigners) are recognizing India as safe place.

It was always safe place barring some incidents here there to which media unnecessary gives a lot of publicity. In some cases people are also responsible. Please bear in mind the country was not open as western countries were in olden days. Things have changed a lot with new, vibrant, knowledgeable, open, intelligent, young generation of Indians. 47% of the population out of 1 billion is below age of 20 and this will very well take to 60% population below 40 years old.

Most of them has seen western world on TV or travelled abroad and now is aware of western culture and people. And please note that Indian who are born and brought up abroad now wants to come back settle in India. There might be reverse flow. Besides a lot of expatriates now lives in India and you will find them in all Metros and in most of the Shopping Complexes. Many of them just want to leave as much as they can in India as where you will get so much luxury at dirt cheap cost anywhere in the World.

Things are really changing in India so as attitude towards westerners, fair complexion and more particularly women.

Some incidence do happen, which everyone knows. Some may due to abbreviation. If women also takes care of their attitude, behavior, proper and decent clothing, things will change lot.

These incidents are happening abroad regularly and even some of European countries are susceptible of theft, pick pocketing, racial behavior. Indians are attacked in lot of countries. That does give any rise of hatred in India.

Most of the Indian are straightforward, sober, helpful people. So if you respect them, they will respect more to you.

Oh Yes ! He's special...or is at least trying to become so...
