Travel Partner for Darjeeling/Sikkim Trek, May 5-15

Hi,

I am leaving for India in couple of days. I will be traveling to Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore before heading out to Sikkim.

I am looking for a trekking partner(s) for the Sikkim area. I plan to do one of the following treks from May 5-15th:

1. Singalila trek from Manebhajang to Phalut (5 days)
2. Yuksom to Goecha La (10 days)

Anybody interested in joining me?

You can continue from the Singali-La straight Northwards along the Indo-Nepal Border Ridge upto Dhafey Bhir Meadow (four days). Then turn right to reach Dzongri in 3 or 4 days. Then turn NW wards to reach Goecha La along the old route. Return by the old route. Of course, the first four days are "tea house" trek days. From Singali La/Phalut you will have to go to Uttarey or Chewa Bhanjyang for arranging porters etc for the rest of the trip. This is a "lesser known" route. More loneliness. More fun. Better views of the Kangchenjonga massif.

You dates in May will mean lots of snow (even on the old Yuksam route). Be prepared. If you want the daywise schedule for the "other" route. send me a PM.
