Travel Partner in Rajastan
Hi
Just looked at your Sacred Soujourns and Just Real Life blogs. I am the visitor from Nowra, Australia. I am going to spend 6 weeks in north-western India in Feb-Mar 2010. Even if we do not catch up in India it would be great to compare notes. I am a 52 y.o. male - is that a problem? Alan |

Hi Alan thx for checking out my blogs.
Age is not an issue, most of my friends are a few yrs older than me (I've always gravitated to more mature people). I'm always interested to compare notes, just be clear I am NOT interested in casual encounters...if you know what I mean. Are you in India now? What's the purpose of your visit? What work are you in (etc etc)? Feel free to msg me if it is better Thanks |

Hi CFP.
Am an 'over' middle age lady with similar interests and more... meaning, am an artist and a writer and an Indian. I have been planning to visit Jodhpur, Sanganer, Ajmer and Jaisalmer for some time now but as you, wanted to travel with a lady though I usually travel alone. But Rajasthan cannot be enjoyed without company. If it's ok with you, we could travel together. PM me for further plans. |

im a chick too!
I am a 20 year old female, and while you may consider that to be young; I am definitely not as socially conditioned as others my age.
I do not do things other kids my age do (on the basis of drugs and stupid things) and am not a bar star; and basically I am also looking for a female partner to travel with. I would go with my family, only India does not interest them; and I think I would be alright to travel with a middle aged woman; as I am very interested in linguistics, cultures, foods and other things that India has to offer. Regards, --- |

acrasial...if you are serious and already have your ticket and itinerary set, perhaps we can discuss further details
I am not looking for someone to travel with the entire 5 months I will be there I would just like to meet fellow travelers while exploring certain locations. It would be helpful if you had more profile details, or you can msg me |

no one ever said it was for one day...it says "while in certain locations"
If you are traveling in Rajasthan during the same dates as I am, I would consider hanging out for that trip... however, bad attitudes are not the way to convince me that I want to do that. You may be looking for someone much closer to your own age. think on it, let me know your dates, and we can discuss it further |

Hi,
I am 38year old female and hoping to be in Rajasthan in April to begin a 4 month trip (I cant get there any earlier due to work commitments. I was going to book a trip with Intrepid/GAP to kick off with as it is my first time in India and I like to have the security of a group in a new country until I get my bearings but would be interested in partnering up with another similar age female to travel independantly. Is April too late for you and if so would you be interested in meeting up somewhere else after this- I am hoping to head to Kerala in May for a few weeks then maybe stay in an Ashram for a couple of weeks. |

Hey CF I have posted further info about myself on one of your blogs as they do not seem as public as this forum. Look forward to hearing from you. Alan

I was going to do a similar tour as well... but yesh, it does sound pretty harsh at times, depending on the tour... but they pair you with a female roomate apparently? |

I have travelled with Intrepid in the Middle East and across Russia, Mongolia & Mongolia. I highly recommend them. And yes, acrasial, women sleep separately to men (unless of course they are a couple) in accommodation (although not necessarily on the train) during the trips.

Something about this tour turns me off... in the list of things it tells you to take.. it mentions a pocket knife! It also says to keep your things at your side, as people on the trains may take them... and I am a young female... and certainly wouldn't feel comfortable being stuck in a train, sleeping- with 5 other men! Ontop of this, only a backpack is allowed, since it has to be able to fit on the train to begin with-- I am wondering what we do with all of our stuff when travelling... As well i do not drink, smoke or do any of those things... and alot of people have mentioned that this is exactly what backpackers do... and unfortunately alot of americanized people as well. So all of those combined are making me want to choose something else... Being my first time to India, alot of the places people stay in for this india tour are not that great... and even some people commented that the beds on the train are more comfortable than the ones in some of the hostels/hotels... I am not looking to be a real cheapo either, because that really does ruin your experience when you act like a miser. So that is my idea of going to India... thus why I am NOW looking for a FEMALE travel partner instead- otherwise I would have just done that tour. |
