Exclamation Travel Buddy Needed!!

HEY EVERYONE
i need a travel partner: i am volunteering in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery school in Ladakh up north come beginning of august
but i want to spend three weeks travelling throughout the greater country prior to going up there(SO, IN JULY)
EDIT i am currently travelling alone, AND AS I AM AND WILL BE A FEMALE UNTIL AN INDEFINITE DATE-haha- i have been advised MANY times against travelling solo throughout india.

if you are interested!! please contact me: talesofanut_cracker@yahoo.com

my schedule is flexible, as long as i am in Ladakh for the beginning of the school year there.

ITINERARY IS CURRENTLY STILL VERYYYY TENTATIVE
i want to get in bagalore, mysore, delhi definitely but there are so many more cities and areas.

i am flexible; i just really want/need an interesting insightful intelligent(and all those good "in" words) kind human being who has been dreaming of this Eastern mystical land as much as i have.

thanks so much
-marina

Question Currently a female???

When are you likely to become a male? If you have noticed, there is a User cp in IndiaMike which addresses this very situation. It asks whether you are male or female 99 % of the time. The remaining one % is left to your discretion.

and i have been advised MANY times against that.
Advised against being a female? What on Earth are you saying? Most people that i know simply LOVE females

When will you quit being a female? Tomorrow? Then i might just lose interest....

That's only because you are currently a female. When you become male, you may become rigid. Most males are generally more rigid than most females. See their faces:

Currently female or male? What if he/she/it cannot keep up with your changes??

Marina indicates sea or beach, isn't it? Marina, are you looking for the company of the Tethys Sea? Or beach? [beach, where have you disappeared you when you are wanted?!?] Now, I believe the Tethys sea is only a former shadow of its majestic self. If you are going to Ladakh to be near the Sea, I am afraid its dried up some millions of years ago.

WELCOME TO INDIAMIKE!!

oh arent you guys clever

ADVISED AGAINST TRAVELLING ALONE AS A FEMALE TRAVELLER IN INDIA
if i were to magically grow a penis, well then itd be much safer to travel on my own. but since i haven't and have no further or future plans to, the current status is i have boobs and no penis and thus travelling throughout india where women are considered a second class citizen is not adviseable.

and yes, there are no seas in the Himalaya's. though i obviously double checked after your concerns.
haha

i need a travel buddy. because i dont want to travel alone.

Travelling as a single woman isn't really a problem although stuff may happen I guess, look up some earlier threads here if you can. Friends of mine did it and survived, in fact it's what got me going. If you are OK with travelling alone is another thing of course, there are threads about that too.

Women looking for travel partners receive a lot of attention here word has it, take all the usual precautions.

Happy travelling. btw As one of the forum leaders recently and rightfully mentioned, the less you expect to find an "Eastern mystical land" the more likely you are to find (some of) it. It's just another country with a whole lotta people and traffic and cows, although it's certainly done something to the several thousand members here obviously.

Don't know whether you've done much travelling alone before, but if you are sensible and take the usual precautions, i don't see why you'd have a problem travelling alone.

I, and many other female members of this forum, have travelled alone in india and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I'll be in the south the entire summer so i wouldn't mind heading off to Bangalore, Mysore, and Hyderabad for some time. Reply back if you're still looking for someone, but based on my experience, the only place I would think about not recommending to solo female travellers is Varanasi.

>>Women looking for travel partners receive a lot of attention here<<
This seems to be the case in most forums frequented by local Indians. Some female travellers I met posted on LP and received dozens of persistent replies from Indian males many of them who never contribute to the LP site but just seem to troll the boards for solo female traveller postings. Luckily we do not have that problem on this site just yet.

ok im still a bit lost as to how these reply posts work, but in response to the suggested reading material:
thank you very mnuch. i will try to pick up the recommended books

as to the eastern mystical land ideal- i know, i was being figurative and idealistic
but it is so radically different from western culture, that i just cant wait to immerse myself in an, a lot of ways, alternate reality.

that would be fantastic!
if you can, please email me at talesofanut_cracker@yahoo.com, and we'll stay in touch through that.

that way i can have all contacts in at least a single mail box folder and not all over an online forum =)
