Sikkim/NorthEast in November-December

Hi,

I am looking to travel the northeastern region including sikkim in the months of november and December 2009. Would be great if I could find a travel mate for that period. Itinerary is flexible and can be accordingly fixed.

I am a 25 year old male from Bombay, practising law when not travelling.

thanks and regards

im based in bombay too. I leave bombay on the 25th oct (going to delhi for 2 days) then flying to bagdogra on the 28th. Ashwin (my boyfriend) will be coming via kolkata so he'll probably meet me somewhere there. (either bagdogra or darjeeling) We'll be heading to sikkim around the 2nd of oct. You can join us anytime it suits you.

Hi trader..

i've done extensive research about the different rates given by the tour operators in gangtok..have spoken to several of them but haven't frozen on/booked anything yet. I plan to do that only once i reach gangtok. There'll be lots of local guys there who might just be able to give me a better deal.
SO i dont really have a fixed itinerary to send you but a north sikkim tour is best done in 4N5D and covers places like yumthang, gurudongmar, chopta, thangu, lachen, lachung and such.
the rate for a group of 5 people in an exclusive vehicle is coming up to about 25k for the entire thing. Which comes down to 1000 bucks per head per day, incl of travel, stay, food and permits. that's a decent deal i think, but i'll try my luck at gangtok too. I'm also planning to make a day trip to Nathula pass, tsongo lake and baba mandir..but the rates for that, i dont know really..
If second week of nov wont get too late for you, i'd be able to give you complete info..along with contact details and feedback about the travel operator i went with

cheers,
aarti

hi aarti,
thanks for the reply. i have spoken to satish from yak n yeti. was he one among the various operators you have spoken to? 25k for a group of 5 for 4N5D trip is really awesome. i hope to find travel partners soon. i would wait for 2nd week. i don't think i should freeze the operator by then as i would be going in december and i guess december must be off season.

regards,
santosh

nope, indians dont need permits to enter sikkim..
certain areas within sikkim require special permits, but the tour operator can arrange that once you're there..
