Rajasthan/Kerala/Tamil Nadu Mid-April to Mid-May

Hi. I'm a 30s woman from Los Angeles and am going to be backbacking in India for 4 weeks, from April 17 to May 13, after which I head to Kyrgyzstan to visit friends in the PC. This is my second trip to India and I like the idea of braving it alone, but would love to have company too!

I want to do a loop around Rajasthan (10 days to 2 weeks) and also, if time, go south to Tamil Nadu and/or Kerala. This may be too much, and I am also still in planning stages, so am flexible. Wouldn't mind seeing Varanasi again....
I am a pretty experienced traveller and plan on going on a budget (i.e. not staying at the Raj).

Anyone else's plans match with mine?

I'm a 34yo Canadian guy working in Chennai until May 4 then heading north for 2 weeks in Rajasthan (yup, I know that it'll be hot, but gotta work first!). It sounds like I'll be going in opposite directiosn to you, but if your plans change, feel free to contact me. The info's in my profile.
