North India October/November 2009

Hey everyone,
Am returning to India after a brief hiatus in Thailand. Lived in Chennai for 6 months a little while back and only had the opportunity to explore parts of southern India. Would like to go back mid-October and visit the North.
Itinerary is completely flexible, but I would love to check out Rajahstan, Delhi and surrounding areas, as well as do some hiking near Nepal if possible!

Will be traveling alone and am looking forward to meeting other travelers/ having a travel buddy along the way.

Anyone else with similar plans?

Cheers,
Katelyn

Oct - nov is excellent time to be around North India!! Rajasthan has a lot for tourists so it all depends upon the time that have spared for your vacations. A quick 4-5 days tour shall include Jaipur Agra and Delhi. 10 more days in Rajasthan will include Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Jodhpur. you can also stay in Ranthambor wild life park if you like that.
another 10 days should cover some part of madhya pradesh including Gwalior, Shivpuri and some near by places.
OR you can utilize them in hilly terrains in Uttarnchal or himachal, followed by hiking in nepal or some good ranges in India itself.
Enjoy life to the fullest!!

Hi Katelyn, I will also be in N. India Sept-Oct. I will first be traveling with a group (Delhi-Agra-Pushkar-Amritsar-Dharamshala-Chandigarh-Rishikesh) until Oct 17th. Then, I am on my own with no plan yet (first time traveling alone, first time to India/would like to have a travel partner). I am flexible and open to re-tracing some of my steps staying in Rishikesh or moving on--Nepal is a must! I will be traveling for up to 6 months.

When and where will you be arriving?

Cheers!

Hi Katelyn,

did you already find a travel partner?
I will arrive in Delhi at October 23rd and want to stay in Rajasthan about one week to visit the pushkar festival. After that I would like to continue to the northeastern states. As there is only restricted traveling possible I´m still looking for at least one more person to get the permit for Arunachal Pradesh. So if you are interested to go there do not hesitate to send me a message.

regards

Stefan

Are foreigners allowed beyond Mangan? You may wish to check that bit. Gurudongmar is definitely offlimits!
