North India Feb 2007 - Female Need Travel Partners

Hi Everyone! My name is Carolina. I am an active female in my 50's. I will be traveling for the first time to India around Feb/March 2007. I will not know till after Dec 22 how long I can stay, so dates and schedule are still flexible, but I want to cover mostly Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. I will be traveling for 4 or 6 weeks, and if time allows, I would like to also visit a tiger reserve and Nepal. I am looking for someone to share the experience with (preferably female). If you are interested...Let me know...Thanks, Carolina

Mineja is also planning to do something similar at around the same time so you could PM her too. Bandhavgarh is the best place to see tigers in the wild and Kanha nearby is also another good place for the tigers. I am sure you will love the state of Madhya Pradesh for all the lovely and scenic temple towns, wildlife, nature, etc. There is Bhopal, Orchha, Khajuraho, Sanchi, Vidisha, Gyaraspur, Bhimbetka (for the prehistoric cave paintings), Ujjain, Gwalior, Mandu, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, etc. which are all in this one central state with a lot of things to see, discover and experience!!! I am sure you will love it here too.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Hi, Carolina..

Make sure you have ample time to rest and more stay at one place.. rather than a hectic tour. Although winter is the ideal time to be here.

Since India is a vast country.. i know you know it too.. the journey's could be tiring sometimes .. spoiling the show.. So plant your trip very well.. and India Mikers can always help you..

Thank You Rakesh

Hi Rakesh! Thanks for the advice. For sure, for sure, I do not want to spoil the show by trying to SEE all of India and not experience any of it (that's what tours are for.) I plan to VISIT, explore, take the time to meet and talk to people enjoy myself. Do you think 4 to 6 weeks is too little to cover the places I want to visit? Let me know... Thanks Caprimax

I think in 6 weeks you can cover a fair bit. 1 Month I'd start prioritizing, will be over before you know. Make a little list for yourself of places (not states) you'd like to visit & travel and actual staying time involved, should soon show you what is realistic.

Hi Machadinha!
I have narrowed my MUST visit places to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer (it's really out of the way but I'd really like to get there,) Udaipur, Khajuraho & Varanasi. Maybe Allahabad, If I can get there in January. I'm still not sure of which tiger reserve. .. I'd like to follow aadil advise to visit Bandhavgarh or Kanha, but don't yet how to fit them in the itinerary. What do you think? Thanks, Carolina

Ehm well, I think what I'd do is write it all down for yourself, including expected travel time to get in and out of each place (and always erring on the conservative side) + actual time you'd like to spend there, taking into account you may want a breather every now and then, etc. You'll soon find out if looks doable or not.

After that, I'd go with your plan & be prepared to change it as the mood strikes you on the ground.
