Good to know your plan to come to India. Im in Bangalore now. In September Dashera is the biggest festival in India and "In the city of joy, Kolkata". Kolkata is my hometown. Even I have a plan to go Goa as well, but the dates I havent fixed yet. If you are interested we can chat n decide on if we can travel together or not. Here we cant post direct email ids. Thanks linsen, yes I would like to meet up with another female traveler... I'm sure we will meet many friendly people like yourselves while there, and I appreciate the offer, but I would rather make the trip with someone who is also traveling to India

Hey Laura. I am 22, female and going to India for the first time. I'm arriving tomorrow actually! I plan to go to Jodhpur to volunteer for a month or so. From mid September I have no plans, except I would like to be in Dharamsala by mid October and then stay there until I go home in early November. I have been thinking about Mumbai but everyone tells me the big cities should be avoided, haha. I am open to anywhere really though.
I think you need to post at least 10 or 15 times before you can send private messages on IndiaMike, so if you clock that up then PM me for my email address I will send it to you and maybe we can keep in touch, just in case our paths eventually cross

Just for grins, I'll be arriving in Mumbai on the 27th or so (barring any visa snafu's) and would like to meet up with some fellow travelers as I have never been to India and it is a tad daunting. I plan on staying 6 months (yes I know visa is good 180 days from date of issue) and don't have a set itinerary. I'll keep my eyes peeled for any other posts regarding meeting up! Hopefully we can connect with some people through here!

Personally I am in Jodhpur until mid September and might do some weekend trips to Pushkar, Agra, Jaipur etc while I'm here. After that my wish list so far includes Varanasi, Darjeeling, Ladakh and Dharamsala. Anyone up for some light trekking at some point too? Anyway it's all really vague at the moment but I am also solo and a bit overwhelmed by India so it would be great to meet some nice people.

My schedule is pretty loose, the only commitments I have are to meet some of my grandmother's cousins and friends in Darjeeling and Nagpur. I get to Mumbai on the 27th, and plan on staying there for a few days then going to Agra. I'll drop some emails before I head out and keep checking here to see what the plan is. If we meet up, great!
