NE India (Assam , Arunachal etc) Motorbike tour - partners needed

Hi
I'm headed for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in early April, and have the chance to maybe go on an inaugural (with the all the added adventure that term implies) motorcycle tour in the area. Need some other riders and pillions to really make it happen, though. I'm non -sexist, non-ageist, and non-racist...(and very experienced at Motocycling IN AUSTRALIA at least). SO if it sounds like you, why not contact me and we can discuss it...

Damn, that would be 90% of my jokes gone.

Good luck, check permit info for Arunachal and any problems taking bikes there, and be warned, it raines a lot in the north-east.

yeah I was sounding a bit precious!

yeah I was sounding a bit precious!
I should have added that just about nothing is off-limits when it comes to a good joke!
Yes, am up-to-date with permit issues...thanks for the heads-up on rain - I was hoping it'd be dry pre-monsoon.
Bike problem (and permits) should be sorted by the local guy who's organising it

I went to Assam in mid march and got so fed up with the rain that I completely changed my plans and got a flight from Dibrugarh to Calcutta.

It maybe only rained for 4 or 5 hours a day, but there seemed to be always mud under my feet.

4 or 5 hours of rain??!!...now that is dampening my enthusiasm...lol..I'll be sure to pack a rainsuit! I thought it was Cherripunji that got all the rain. Maybe you just struck a wet few days...

royal.devil & Swapnil: I'm hoping to go with a new m'cycle tour startup venture
(moderators: can I mention its name here??).
I'm sure you could negotiate to tag along for a price , but having your own bikes you'll have much more flexibility and want to go your own way I would think.
Haven't heard much lately from the tour operator, so at this late stage maybe I'll just be arriving there and hoping that somehow I get a bit of a ride (seems impossible for western tourists to hire bikes in Guwahati as yet)
I would love to do the ride up to Tawang!!

No, you can't mention its name as that would be advertising.

We have to apply the same rule to all.

Furthermore, it would make you a member of the travel trade. As such you cannot then continue to be an IndiaMike member (see our membership terms).

However a member can be a brain surgeon, an undertaker, or a tour operator --- how are we to know? Any individual is free to join the site, but they must not mention, or recommend, in any way, by posting, profile content, PMing, etc, their business interest.*

We have plenty of members that do maintain that discretion, including a few that go way back before the rule was introduced, and were happy to fall in line with it, some of them even changing their membership names to do so.

It is tough, but, believe me we need this rule to maintain the integrity of the site.

*the site rules rule, of course.
my explanation given here may or
may not cover all the applicable ones
