Mumbai to Uttarkashi (Nehru Inst. Mountaineering)

mumbai to uttarkashi in october

I am travelling to Mumbai around the first of October and will be travelling up to Uttarkashi via Dehradun to join the Nehru institute of Mountaineering. i am allowing aound 2 weeks to travel from Mumbai so as to give me chance to have a bit of a gander round. M course runs for a month, until the 18th of November and i plan to spend the remainder of November travelling about a bit, as before. I hope to spend time trekking, climbing/bouldering and maybe even trying out a bit of yoga, not to mention general immersion in the whole indian experience. I am travelling alone, 18 and male and subsequently am pooing it! was wodering if anyone will be in the area and fancies hooking up and travelling around a bit?
Also, absolutely any advice would be great too, where to stay, visit, eat, see, flights, trains jeeps...anything!
