That sounds like a brilliant trip.

If I'd ever ridden anything bigger than one of those scooters you get in Goa, I'd be sending you a PM.

I can imagine that the Kaza, Spiti, Kinnaur bit'll be out of this world.

How many people are you planning to round up?
Hippee, I haeve noe rounded up..From my biking experience, the "more the merrier" concepts end at around 4-5 bikes. Anything more than that will just slow everyhting down. My cousin is planning to visit India in July. He is a serious biker too. We will need bikes though.. I would prefer a jap 2 stroke -- as they have been "bullet proof" in my experience.

Sure Dr Fun, Spiti valley isn’t any less then famous Leh area, weather gods permitting we should be having nice time there soon.

Crvlvr, I hope your country cousins will have some bikes to loan you! if not then you can just haul an old RZ/TZ from there an just dump them here when you go J ok seriously there aren’t any 2 strockers left in production anymore. Those under puny 100 cc, which are still up and about, look and feel so hilariously small. My Yamaha twiner is an old girl now and I need a new bike for touring so I went to chk up and found yamaha India is still offering 135 cc two stroke but becz of pollution laws they have put in a cat-con, retired the timing and head volume seems to be seriously played with. To get her right and move like 2 stroke isn’t worth effort. I’d better buy an old one and spruce it up myself.

2 stroker bugger up better then old bullets, its not cylinder volumes but how well your engine is breathing, rarefied air can frustrate any big bore bike. crvlvr you can throw in a small NOS kit as well. Won’t go waste, my word on that.

In the Area

Hey hippie at heart, I will be in Delhi in the beginning of may and head to Varanasi to pick up a friends bike that he has so graciously allowed me to use. If you are in town and are able to get together for a meal or something then that would be great...you have a wealth of knowledge that might make this pauper a little more rich.

peace,

Zamir

Hello people. Im a newbie to this site so greetings to y'all.
Im about to come over to India in September 12th for a motorbiking tour starting from Delhi, thru Himachal Pradesh, down Rajastan, Mumabi, Goa, Kerela, Bangalore and Pondicherry. Then back up to Delhi to return to the UK on 20th December.
I am planning to buy an Enfield 500cc bike from Inder Motors as it has been highly-recommended to me.

I ama fairly inexperienced rider having stopped riding around 4 yrs ago. I am not an expert mechanic either. Anyone got any tips or plan to do something similar?

Thank yew!

Hippie at heart - explained it very well with superb example..sleep with a sheep ... just no cribbing.. live the real way life takes you...
Kind of impressive words I got from u.
